Unmasking the Aerospace-Grade Head Cover Gasket: The War on Thermal Drift and Seepage

The stock cover gasket on the Katana is made of paper.
It shrinks a lot when heated.
One option is to apply liquid gasket sealant in advance to areas prone to shifting,
but doing that makes it a real hassle to remove the cover next time (lol).

Teardown Report: The Katana Blade, Millimeter-Level Precision, and the Battle Against Thermal Drift

The second this official Suzuki GSX1100S Katana pizza cutter hit my workbench, I started tearing down the stainless-steel rotary blade assembly. I had to compare it against standard kitchen tools to expose the unforgivable weaknesses of OEM parts, and man, the engineering here is beautifully insane ...

Garage Notes: Unlocking Exhaust Velocity with the OVER RACING SESMIC-IV

Fellow gearheads and purists, I need to pause my wrenching and document what just crossed my lift. I’m just a crazy motorcycle fan who happens to spend my days deep in the shop, but the moment this OVER RACING SESMIC-IV exhaust arrived, I couldn't resist. I immediately started tearing down our demo ...

Unmasking the CNC Billet Oil Pump: A Master Mechanic’s Deep Dive into Obsessive Fluid Dynamics

The moment this billet high-flow oil pump arrived at the shop, I was so intrigued that I started tearing down the assembly immediately to compare it with the factory cast version—and discovered the internal geometry is absolutely insane.

The unforgivable weakness of OEM parts is the porous cast ...

Tearing Down the Moto-Dowell Katana Pop-Up Kit: MM-Level Precision Meets Actuator Madness

The moment the new Moto-Dowell retractable headlight kit for the modern Katana hit my bench, I couldn’t help myself. I started tearing down the whole assembly before my morning coffee to compare it side-by-side with the factory setup. I had to know if this was just nostalgic fluff or a truly ...

Tearing down the new GSX750S Katana billet triple tree: The OEM flex was a joke.

Listen up, gearheads. We just got our hands on a new CNC-machined A7075 billet triple tree for the old-school GSX750S Katana, and honestly, the moment it hit the bench, my wrenching instincts completely took over. I couldn't resist tearing down an old factory unit to do a side-by-side caliper check ...
