Update
I have just updated RTTL software to the latest version which (amongst other things) will make it a lot more secure. However it wont stop the Bad Bots and Scrapers visiting so the CAPTCHA is still necessary to prevent the board being swamped

Re: Hi-Fi upgrades
Not built but I have seen/listened to a few hence my comment.
I'm not naming names as the ones I have experienced may be the only one bad (or good) apple in the barrel

Re: Hi-Fi upgrades
I would question the safety (especially with the voltages involved) and long term reliability. Its really taking pot luck, you might get a good one, or not.derek badger wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 11:26 am.has anyone had experience building those Chinese valve kit amps?

Re: Prostate Cancer
I avoid the smear test for too long every time - I hate it and have been treated appallingly by nurses and doctors in the uk doing the procedure. If a patient is in tears, either they are in pain or they are fucking scared - do not tell them that they "are being silly, it's only uncomfortable, not ...

Re: Prostate Cancer
Thats just not good enough. Mention "Jess's Rule" to your GP (assuming that you are in England of course)

I totally agree, but as mere men we dont seem to matter.Count Steer wrote: Tue Mar 03, 2026 1:25 pm Once you've approached the GP service regarding prostate related issues, for crying out loud, is it beyond their systems to schedule annual follow-ups

Re: Prostate Cancer
True, but any indication that there MAY be a problem is better than doing nothing. After all, if I hadn't had the PSA test, I wouldn't have had "the finger" and I wouldn't have had the MRI

Prostate Cancer
When did you last have your PSA test? If the answer is "ages ago" or "never" correct that error now.
3 years ago my PSA was 3.5 (ie fine) I have my annual review with my GP a couple of months ago and requested a PSA test as well, luckily the GP agreed. Its now 4.7. Test repeated, still 4.7. Saw the ...

RTTL Downtime
As per @weeksy 's post here RTTL will be offline for a short while later this afternoon or tomorrow morning (UK time) while I update the software.
It shouldn't take too long, but it takes as long as it takes.

I do need to get some updates done by our techie @HiFi Kabin and will contact him to do so
I need to check if the styles have been updated by their author or if I will need to update them myself before I do anything else.
Would we want to do a "recruitment drive"?
Would it be worth ...

Guessing these "things" give up after a while if you have Cloudflare or similar?
That seems to be the implication from things i've read yeah. But i'm still pretty new to all this, so it's a bit of guesswork as well.
That appears to be the case. One board that I manage is totally private ...

A quick (??) rundown on what and why.
