Re: Just Dead Celebrity Express Thread !

I had a Bonnie Tyler sat nav years ago. It kept telling me to turn around, and every now and then it fell apart.

Avon, Skin So Soft. Apparently it keeps them away better than proper repellents.

I'm too busy this year, and probably next year as well. I'd vote for pint sized comedian Tom Allen. He'd bring a sense of style, wit, charm and a level of campness that would bring the role nicely into today's diverse community.

Re: Lanx Shoes

My Wife has a pair of their boots and loves them. The original pair she got had some loose elastic on the ankle bit which became loose after a week or so. Can't fault their customer service, they offered to refund fully or send out a new pair (after inspection). Mrs wanted to try another pair and ...

Re: The Halo effect?

Could this also apply to rear lights on a vehicle? Some brake lights flash quickly when hard braking happens. This could also potentially cause the halo effect I suppose.

The Soprano's (again), Mrs Nozzle had never seen it and is giving it a go. I purchased the DVD box set years ago and have seen 3 or 4 times. Mrs is really enjoying it despite having doubts.

Sarnies, cold pasta and pesto, tinned fish, fruits, cheese and crackers, mixed nuts with chocolate chips mixed in, all can be washed down with a tot of rum.

Re: Oi! Audiophiles! Budget starter turntable?

I can recommend Rega Plannar but be aware you have to manually move the belt to get from 33rpm to 45rpm or the other way round. Unless you buy 2 turntables and leave them on their respective settings.

First you need to find out if they are actually a witch. Dunk them in a pond, if they float they are definitely a witch.

I just got a pair from maximo Moto, now selling on Amazon. £16.99. Super lightweight and with knuckle protection. They seem tough enough but I can't tell what they'd be like in a spill.

Re: Talk to me about braking with the rear brake

I use the rear brake for slow speed manoeuvres, revs up and control speed with rear brake. Basic bike skills. Whilst riding, as you say, going down hill you are better off not putting too much on the front end.

Re: Bikes you should never have bought

Piaggio X10 350, an aircraft carrier sized maxi scoot. Within a month of owning the battery died, 3 hours to get to the thing. Oil leak that the source just couldn't be found. Valve seals blew and had to have the engine rebuilt. Great storage space under the seat though.
