I'd honestly never considered I'd get it, nor had I been offered a vaccine. Over here apparently it's free for the over 65s, youngsters like me have to stump c200€ for each of the two shots. Seems like a bargain.

The shingles.
I mean there's worse things to get, but FFS what a random and pointless affliction to come down with. Feels straight out of the middle ages. And it fooking hurts.

I dropped the 690 SMCR off for it's CT (Mot). It failed because of the angle of the license plate. Which is mounted on the standard bracket from Ktm !!
My NTV rat bike had its first CT last year. It's been heavily foreshortened because up until recently with no CT who was going to stop me. When ...

One Battle After Another.
Love DiCaprio as an actor but he was wasted on this. His ability to select good films from meh is having a bit of a bumpy ride of late.
Apart from it being too long to support the plot, the musical score was amongst the worst and most grating of any film ever IMO. At one ...

Not cards because when I get pissed I can't remember any of the rules.
But in younger days at the boozer we would often play darts (mainly killer) and 'devil amongst the tailors' (because the auld pub we hung out in had one in the back bar).
And then often it would cuilminate on sunday afternoons ...

According to the BBC:
Contact tracing is under way in several countries for passengers who left the ship before the outbreak was detected - including the UK, Switzerland and the Netherlands
So apparently the virus is primarily transmitted airborne from rat faeces and urine. Nice.

4 months?! I've obviously been spoiled - been MRI'd 3 times (+ CAT scanned twice, X-rayed until I glow, had day-surgery twice and various other bits and bobs). Don't think I've had to wait more than 6 weeks for anything. Maybe I picked the right region to live in for my accelerated ...

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Given the capital cost of MRI kit they should really sweat the assets and run them 24/7. If push came to shove and I wanted it done pronto I'd be there at 3am given the opportunity!
I think I heard that they do that in the US. (although the amount they charge I'd consider investing in an MRI ...

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Yay! Indeed.
Instead of all this campaigning for blanket PSA testing the effort should be put into a) developing a better test and b) either routine MRI scans for chaps of a certain age or ultrasound scans - which are only a tad more complicated than the 'finger up bum' test and give ...

The dreaded "elevated PSA result" for a gentleman in his later 50s, followed by an MRI, followed by an interview with the hospital urologist. :(
It turns out big guys have naturally big(ger) prostates and therefore can show higher psa scores that are essentially 'normal' (when teamed with a 'normal ...

I hire vehicles a lot, possibly at least 50 so far. They should provide you with a damage report (of existing damage) on pickup, often they walk through it with you, thye encourage you to point out existing damage. This is really common practice and has been so for decades. It's in everyone's ...

Drove through London on Sunday morning - South of the river up to the M11. I never do that, partly because of my general location, mainly because everyone makes it sound such a ball ache. But. It turns out if you get lucky with traffic then it can be quite fun cruising through the narrow and winding ...

As long as I can, I'll be doing it myself. I have the time, I need some better space. The way I look at is that it's a learning experience and I essentially get some new tools for free.

I'm a longhaired geezer (and gorgeous, 'natch) and the # of times I've been misgendered ("bonjour mademoiselle", "can I help you miss?" scenarios) if you counted them up and gave me a penny for each time I'd have a cool £3.54p.
