Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?

My FXR was the only one of my bikes with a full tank of fuel so that was today’s choice. A quick trip to Choppers Cafe near Marlborough before heading back via Wantage for another coffee in the market square

Where was the invite?

I’ll remember next time- love the A338 route from wantage ...

I've recently arranged my first session with the tailor to get my bespoke Peacoat made. Would now be a good time to mention it?

Re: Quality of new Japanese motorcycles

Overall I’m very impressed with the quality of my Speed Twin. The frame paint is almost enamel-like, the various brackets and fastened all seem at least as good as my 1998 Fireblade and, so far (3,000 miles in) everything works as it should. However the chain side plates and clutch adjuster ...

Re: What have you done today thread?

Took a ride to the Ace Cafe for breakfast- nice ride avoiding motorways and got the chance to use my heated grips before the sun broke through. Very happy with both grips and breakfast

Happy birthday local boy !!!! Hope you get some sun to take a Triumph out for a play :)

Congratulations.

Cheers - funnily enough Mrs Nidge has just told me she has booked (and paid for) an appt with the Triumph shop for heated grips to be fitted this morning so I’m hoping for some cooler temps ...

Re: Classic Triumph Bonneville

I’m pretty sure hot oil pressure is about 40-50 psi (I think the pressure relief valve operates at 60psi on a T140)- helpfully the oil light illuminates at 5psi … more of a “your engine is fucked” light

Re: Classic Triumph Bonneville

The thing is, if there's something wrong with the bottom end if must have been that way for a long long time. I did manage to kick it and start it before I started on all this work, even that was reasonably difficult. At the time it was waaaay down on compression though, so maybe one cancelled the ...

Only after Benelli did (albeit with a facsimile of a Honda 4 with a couple of pots added)

Sitting in quite a good little coffee shop on Newport Pagnell High Street waiting for a shop to open (long story).

Its just down the road from Aston Martin's old factory/current flagship dealer, so an inordinate number of flash cars are driving past. :D

Re: Classic Triumph Bonneville

I've just nipped out to the garage and tried it on one of the T140s. In gear clutch plates free and clutch pulled in the kick start does indeed turn the back wheel. Like you I'm not sure what this tells me....
