Tomorrow I need to drill a couple of holes in walls for the cable then Skynet (Starlink) will be ready to go. Nowhere near those sort of speeds but a lot faster than the intermittent crap I've got at the moment.

If it's any consolation, the same test carried out that morning whilst on BT.

Virgin Media. In fairness, I was worried they'd muller the driveway and garden, but they turned up over two days and by the time they'd finished, the only way you'd know they've been is a bit of cementing just in front of my front path, on the street side, and their white box screwed to the front of my gaff, which is almost obscured by the planting.
The guys who run it from the box to the house were ace. Very impressed by how slick and unobtrusive the whole process was.

Bought mesen a paint stirrer. It's awesome
I use lot of paint on the villa and always buy the 20 litre tubs as generally use a full one for most jobs. Always need a good 10 minutes stir with a stick.
Not any more
I used nearly half a ton when I painted the villa immediately after we bought it.
480 litres!!!!

Queer beer in the fridge.
I'm putting these two in the 'Pleasing Purchase' thread, but who knows? Never tried either of them.

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
Picked this up on Friday:
270+ mile drive home was great, it does everything you’d expect in a modest way, Sport+ usefully delays the gear changes and sharpens up the steering, diesel engine returns great fuel economy. Sadly it doesn’t have the adjustable suspension but I didn’t drive it to rag around, more a toy to enjoy at weekends and occasionally throughout the week. Overall it is pretty well spec’d throughout, hence the long distance collection.
Only thing lacking is the control issues that most MB (plus others) suffer which are having to hold the control button throughout the roof opening / closure operation, lack of remote comfort opening / closure and having to come to a complete standstill to operate it. A Smart Top control box has been ordered to rectify those niggles and add more control options around the electric windows.
I’m taking bookings for perms and highlights from Friday onwards

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
I can remote open the roof with the key on my SL.
You have to stand at the drivers side and point the IR sender on the key at the IR receiver on the door handle (little black square) and hold the open button on the key fob. I imagine it's the same on the SLK/SLC.
I did look at the Smart Top, but I remember it being a bit spendy and a bit of an arse to wire in?

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
Remote operation was an option on the SLC. Mine had, according to Autotrader advert, over £4k of options, £1,000 of which was satnav but didn’t include that, I’ve got heated full leather seats, air scarf and panoramic roof as well.
Thankfully it has wired Android Auto and CarPlay so I can just use navigation apps on my phone.
Smart top is around £400 supply only and is fully plug and play, most people on the SLK/SLC forum I’ve found quote around an hour to install, the version for the R170 SLK was much more invasive and included tapping into and cutting the ECU loom which I wouldn’t want to do.
