I think he's always had it, I'd it attitude, arrogance or confidence, I don't really know .

Pidcock not going to the TDF, mostly because his new team doesn't have an invite. But in truth i don't think it massively suits him anyway. He does seem to start have putting entries in for the spring classics.
Will be interesting to see how he goes there and whether he races XC worlds for example as well.

Pidcock was never going to make it as a GC rider in the Tour. He's ok for the odd stage win but isn't even close to Pogacar and Vingegaard. I reckon he might do well in the classics but even then he's up against some incredible talent.

Absolutely agree. I think he's like a Thomas De Gent in the context that he can pick up a stage here and there as a GT rider, but he can't do the day after day after day on the mountains like Pogacar can. In the classics it's going to come down to timing and teamwork. I think he could pick up one of the fairly big ones this year as MVdP can't win them all, and WvA is not at his best. But obviously there's 30+ other racers who are realistically looking to snag one too. I don't know if he'll get a Monument this year, but he'll be thereabouts at times. Maybe Strade Bianchi.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how it all plays out this year.

I think he takes too much notice of his own press. Don't get me wrong, he's a great rider whether that's road, MTB or CX but with MTB and CX he's a big fish in a small pond. On the road he's most definitely a small fish.

With the Monuments you have riders like Pogacar in the mix now and outside of horrific conditions like Roubaix in 2021 you'd not really want to bet against him.

My prediction for Pidcock this year is that he'll be brought back to earth with an almighty bump when he realises that he's not got the support away from a big team. Obviously there's every chance I'll be wrong

Well he's just destroyed the first stage he was really competing on and gave Q365 a win... Hilly stage, got to 500m to go and destroyed them all.

I'll admit he wasn't taking on Pogacar, but a premier class win is still a win.... Pogacar isn't at every race of course.
