The leads supplied with it are excellent, the little rubber in the top is like magic and the lead rotates automatically to keep it sharp, hence 'Roulette'.
Clever, them Japanese.

Yup. I looked on Amazon. That's quite an uplift! (Can't see it in the details on Cult Pens but mine was delivered with spare leads and erasers).Rockburner wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 2:39 pmLess than a tenner.Count Steer wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 2:01 pmAmazon link not working...but, I'd rather support a not-Amazon business (and it was a gift so I didn't buy it).![]()

I like that. I have a few mechanical pencils, the 0.5 mm leaded ones are ideal for use with an Incra rule (I have an Incra centering rule*) which has 0.5mm holes all over it.
Not sure I like the £17 and it'd probably be more expensive here if it's even available. I'll have a look.

*Edit* Mmmm, available but £27!

<£10 on UK Amazon. Happy to acquire and send inc some spare leads (they seem better than the Rotring leads - I have a few Rotring Tiki pencils) to Turkey if you can't get one there.Yambo wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 8:09 amCount Steer wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 11:40 am Purchased for me, as a gift, which is doubleplus good - a Uni Kuru Toga 'Roulette' mechanical pencil. Thanks CS, that's very generous of you but loads of people go to UK from here throughout the year and I often buy stuff, have it sent to their UK address and they bring them back for me. I restrict it to small, light items.
I'm currently using Scrikss pencils. They're reasonably well made with metal bodies and last quite well; best, reasonably priced ones I could find. Leads here are shite though!
I can sometimes be an impulse buyer for stuff like this!

Fancy pants bourbon glasses, super heavy bases that keep the drink cool (if chilled beforehand) without ice adulterating the drink

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
Just pushed the button on one of these...
https://www.currys.co.uk/products/msi-p ... 67081.html
It's got a 13th gen Core cpu, so it's two years old, but it's got a full metal body and a better than HD screen (which is an important thing for me).
I also signed up for a discountsforcarers.com account, which is free and you don't have to be a carer (go figure), they gave me a 10% discount code for Curry's laptops, so it's only cost me £404.
I'm just about to go pick it up.

Audiolab HiFi separates streaming box for my office. Saw one on eBay which was going cheap with not much time left, got it for £51. Seems like I've missed something, they're normally £2-300, triple checked but can't see a problem

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
Some remarkably plush shit tickets. Bought the Charmin in the blue bag instead of the red. 1/2in wider, softer, stronger & for some reason have a wavy serration to separate the shit tickets. Not sure what that accomplishes exactly.. but wiping the exhaust is now much more luxurious & no risk of unexpected butt finger. Will buy again.

Just a quick recommendation for Louis Moto in Germany - online bike stuff retailer.
Ordered some stuff last Thursday, arrived today. All jolly good.

It's now living on the shelf under my office desk, plugged into a little 50W Cambridge Audio amp and some equally cheap eBay found Celestion book shelf speakers.
Hardly the last word in Audiophile, but a million times better than the laptop-headphone-jack-into-amp I had before. I always forget how much better real HiFi sounds.
