Difficult conversation as well.
I have a similar situation with a very dear friend. He absolutely stinks. The last time he was in our house the cushions off the chair he sat on had to be thrown out. He's lost all sense of personal hygiene and general taking care of himself. I try to circumvent the problem by keeping him outside,or in the garage if he calls, but at the moment I really don't have the balls to tell him to take a shower ffs. I know for sure he'd be offended and I wouldn't hurt him for the world.

I'm hoping someone else will drop him a word and give me a way out.

See!? They had it spot on. 'Even your best friend won't tell you'.

He needs to know, you won't tell him and...he'd be offended if you did him a favour and let him know.

Sheesh! What a planet.

Might be an option if they get on - stuff like that weirdly seems to come better from female friends in my experience...

Dart apologises for asking Boisson to 'put on deodorant'

"During a changeover in the second set, Dart was heard on the broadcast asking the official: "Can you ask her to put on deodorant? She smells really bad.""

Bit rude.
I remember reading that the French were the lowest consumers of soap per capita, but the highest users of perfume.

I never had an issue with telling a friend to have a wash mate, Yer reeking. Feel at tad awkward telling a work mate for some reason.

Do you still have pigeon holes nowadays? (I know - pigeons do). If so, how about a nice friendly anonymous note in his, explaining the problem and what he needs to do about it….
