Are there any bikes you've owned in the past that you'd like to own again?

Post by Skub »

I tend to lust after bikes I've never owned, rather than going back.

I've enjoyed all of them, but I've done that, ticked the box and moved on.

An 04/05 ZX10R may be the only bike I'd go back to. Unlikely, but not completely out of the question.

No. None of them. If they were any good, they'd still be making them

I'd quite like my FZR400RR back, but don't think I'd be able to fit on it now.

I never really got a chance to get on with my CB1000R and I was unexpectedly surprised at what great linear grunt it had! Comfort aside I really liked riding it! There's always a chance of another Harley as its probably one of the few manuals I think I could still ride? Fortunately been outbid on a couple of bikes from my yoof, RD250/400s/LCs etc, but sometimes I think if i had a second bike for sunny Sundays one would fit the bill. Trouble is most sunny Sundays I'm away in my campervan, so it'd probably end up rusting away...

I'm not sure TBH. If could own a bike in France and have it registered there then I could be tempted into another Griso for cruising the twisty D roads but I wouldn't have another in this country because the roads are in such a state.

I do think back to the Duke 390 quite often as it ticked a lot of boxes but at the end of the day I'd rather spend the money on something that can do bits of off-road, even if it's compromised on the road bits, as my riding skills were never at the level to extract *all of the ability out of it.

*Probably not even half of it

Me & a couple of mates had this discussion last weekend,2 of us would have a 250LC again, the other one would love a TDR250.
Seems like we all want a 2 stroke in our little collections, trouble is sellers are asking daft money for them.

You'll be disappointed, they're not quick or exciting compared to modern bikes.

I had a GP100 when I was 17, it was a right shitter, some days it would seize on the way to work and I'd have to wait half an hour for it to cool down and unstick itself.

There are no bikes I'd like to own again, there's a reason they get sold.

A 2008 R1.
Best bike I've every had and one of the daftest things I've done, chopping it in for and FZ1.

I looked at getting one again earlier in the year but you only seem to be able to get thrashed and blinged up ones nowadays.

The bottom end shat itself on mine, had to go in to Stan Jones in Shrewsbury for a fix up. 👍 Was a bullet compaired to the Fizz.
