If it has damper rod forks they don't have compression damping, only rebound.

I remember one bike I had, but not which one, i had to drill holes in the rods before i fited the valves and then cut the spacers by the thickness of the valves,iyswim?Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 6:04 pm If it has damper rod forks they don't have compression damping, only rebound.

Incoming.....Taipan wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 5:14 pm No, there is a complete lack of compression damping on the front. Reading up on them i'm not the only one to notice it.A few people have fitted these to theirs.

Yep, that's what you have to do with cartridge emulators.Taipan wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 6:44 pmI remember one bike I had, but not which one, i had to drill holes in the rods before i fited the valves and then cut the spacers by the thickness of the valves,iyswim?Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 6:04 pm If it has damper rod forks they don't have compression damping, only rebound.

Found my old Fakerapovic of my old nc750x in the shed-of-plenty! Might bung it on to see how it sounds! It’ll look a bit shite on brand new bike though, so maybe not!

Took it off and bunged it in the shed-of-plenty without cleaning it.

Its a sound I miss. I might clean this one up and if it comes up clean enough, put it on and see how it sounds? Then if I like hearing it, maybe treat it to a Black Widow 300mm one as they're only £200?asmethurst99 wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2026 6:24 pmMines even worse and cheaperer - does improve the sound though

Just clicked past 1000 miles now. Still miss cruise control. I've adjusted to the power drop from the AT though. Being on 17" wheels and a much lower CoG makes it a much easier bike in traffic. Its a very competent commuter and I cant see it going anywhere as its doing exactly what I thought it would do, and what I bought it to do. Only thing I might change it for, is if the next model they release has cruise control?

You want an Atlas Lock, they're a bit spendy for what they are and I'm sure you can probably get a Temu version for a tenner.

I need actual cruise control. I go through a few average speed camera sections, and it dead handy, when you're in one, to have CC doing the work for you!KungFooBob wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 2:10 pm You want an Atlas Lock, they're a bit spendy for what they are and I'm sure you can probably get a Temu version for a tenner.

Re: NBT I've just bought my forever bike part4 , The Final Edition!
I dislike the rider modes on the bike. You have Standard, Sport, Rain (ffs who needs rain mode on a sub 60bhp bike
) User 1 and user 2. User 1 and 2 are programmable.
So my issue is Standard mode changes gear too quickly and only has 3/4 of available power. Sport has full power, hardly any engine braking and the gear change point is extended so it changes up much later and down earlier. What I'm looking for is a combo of standard and sport, or standard with full power is actually it. So I messed around and set User 1 to be just that. I'm pleased with that.
