I'm being realistic. Yea, there's more potholes, but the roads in UK have always been fairly shit. I'm more concerned about drivers than rough roads.

I have to get over my obsession with having a spotless bike all the time and just get out and ride.

That's something I developed quite late in biking life, mainly as at the start my bikes were my transport and whilst they got a wash every week or 2 they never stayed clean. Then I hit a nice middle ground once I gave up commuting before it all got a bit silly and I was cleaning the bastard every 5 mins. I'm transitioning back again now though. Currently my bike is covered in flies and summer dust, but meh it won't harm the bike so it'll be fine until I can be arsed. I prefer a clean bike, but using the bugger is the main thing.

Normally I clean my Suzuki before I go to trackdays.

Well, I've finally booked a trip home on the Motorbike via Scotland on the ferry.

In another blow, as I'm moving house due to my separation, my insurance company won't cover me at my new potential address as it's not garage. Great. If I can't get reasonable cover, the bike will have to go.

That's what front rooms are for. As long as you can get it over the threshold and put some hardboard/plywood down over the floor boards to catch any drips, you're good to go. It also means you can do winter maintenance in the warm and dry.

That's a bit rubbish. Doubt all this is helping your bike mojo. Can you build a shed/buy one of those metal bike garages, seem to recall some insurers will treat them as a garage of sorts.

Worse case if you have to sell it you should be able to get something older/cheaper they will insure and it might help you get over the clean bike thing.

Thought I'd read it somewhere, looks like there are caveats but might be worth a call to the insurer if you can build a shed or get an Asguard or something.

Good on you! When you're going through anything that gives you emotional stress, a bike can give you some much needed, enjoyable, head space.

The last two houses I've bought, the number one priority was secure parking/storage for the bike. It's non-negotiable.

Found a place, and been accepted today. A little over budget but I can make it work. Great setup, garage etc, and a quiet area. It's about 15 minutes from Congleton, so whilst I lose the MTB from the door(which I'm gutted about) everything will work for me.
