I Went to pick the 690 duke up after it's rebuild

I was quoted €1500, I get there and the bill is €1650

I dropped the 690 SMCR off for it's CT (Mot). It failed because of the angle of the license plate. Which is mounted on the standard bracket from Ktm !!

Did they view the angle with no rider on the bike? If you were sat on it then it may have been legal.

I got pulled a while ago for angle of my plate
I showed him a pic of the bike in the showroom with same plate.

He said OK

Then rolled his eyes at the 3€ mirror from AliExpress :obscene-birdiedoublered:

I'd left it with them, so I would assume no. Though it's going to take a hell of a weight to change the angle of the numberplate significantly

Idiots who walk on trails/roads with noise cancelling headphones.

Then jump like idiots and give you a dirty look when you pass them like you could have alerted them of your presence somehow.

I don't understand being in the countryside with something other than the noise of the countryside.

My Sony ones are great when we're in the hills and need to block the wind.

But they have 3 settings so I can hear ambient sound as if I wasn't wearing them.

So no problems hearing folk coming from behind.

My NTV rat bike had its first CT last year. It's been heavily foreshortened because up until recently with no CT who was going to stop me. When I wheeled it in the CT bloke raised his eyebrows and basically said "where's the rest of it?". The obvious response, the shrug, was accepted as proof of stuff that just happens and he passed it.

I think he's secretly really impressed about all the nacient vehicles I keep roadworthy and bring him from time-to-time.

"Something" got flicked at us by a truck as we were heading into town. Give me the fright of my life.

When you see the somethings heading for the screen you can't quite believe it's not going to come straight through. Pretty incredible how strong current screens are. Hopefully your insurance will cover it? I think I've got the screen covered (without impacting NC). If so they're usually pretty good at getting one of the replacement companies out to you sharpish.

(At one job I had a colleague got her car screen busted on the way into work. The screen people turned up, took the car, parked up under a bridge as it was raining, and replaced it the same morning so she could drive home. It was a lease car though).

I'm waiting on a quote from the place that the MOT was booked at (two birds etc). Depending on what that quote is, I'll then decide whether or not it's worth the hassle of an insurance quote (I don't care what they claim about "protected no claims" etc, they'll be bound to up the quote next year because of it).

I'd have a close look at your policy RB. It may be no more than a call to the insurer and they sort it - they may have a contracted screen company.

(Without affecting your NC).

Filly had a repair recently via insurance. IIRC small excess charge only.

I don't trust them to honour their contracts tbh.

Who on earth are you insured with?!! Are they a subsidiary of Plummet Airlines or something?

I've been waiting 4 hours for a priority 2 ambulance, no sign of it at all. It's not exactly a heart attack but may become fatal in a few more hours.
N.B. it's not for me and not unexpected.

Latest parts arrival for the '83 GPz750.

They have a ridiculous kickstand mechanism that wasn't used on any other Kaw. Instead of just having a kickstand & a spring it has a kickstand, two brackets & a short spring.
All I have is the kickstand.

Found a used one on Ebay with all the associated gubbins & ordered it. Two weeks later it still hadn't shipped so I cancelled the order.. at which point the seller claimed to have shipped it that day... & gave a 50% refund.. ok fairs do's etc.
That was a week ago.
Box showed up today. Just the fucking kickstand. :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack: :angry-cussingblack:

5 hours later they showed up, decided it was suddenly urgent and put blue lights on for the 10 minute drive to A&E.
