Yes, I remember that. It used to be a thing you could negotiate in if it wasnt included as its basically an oil change and acursory glance over, and that's about it. I got £500 off the ticket price so was quite happy with what I paid. The sales guy suggested the service plan to me and as he said, service rates wont go down, only up. TBH I just liked the idea of paying it upfront and not having to worry about it down the line. I've planned for their spanners to be the only ones to touch the bike as I dont want to do anything to it.

Its not actually that hard to do on them as they are adjustable and not shims, and the rad swings down out of the way to do it. So not loads of panels to remove etc.

Took it in for its 600 mile service today. Very nice to sit and wait in teh service reception rather than grovelling about on the floor in the cold, getting my hands dirty, !

I took the long way home, and realised this something I find myself doing quite often. I guess its because I like riding the bike, which, TBH, I didn't expect to, as it was bought for practical purposes rather than enjoyment. I think its the welcome return to 17" wheels that clinches it! It doesn't have a very ADV style riding position. It more like riding a naked bike as your feet are quite high up and back too and of course it has mandlebars.Also, I think as I wasn't expecting anything from it, its won me over simply because it is a very good, economical commuter. So its abit of a bonus that i've ended up liking it as well!

A couple of gripes though. Its quiet. Too bloody quiet. I may end up putting a can on it, as I like to hear a bike when I ride it? The other gripe is the budget suspension. I've had these bikes before and don't recall the front suspension being this bad? Hit a bump or pothole and it really belts you one through the bars and seat! There is almost zero high speed compression damping in the forks. Rear shock is not as bad, but still pretty dire! Hyperpro do a streetbox kit for them and I may go down that route, but I think it needs emulators/PD valves in rather than different springs and oil. I really CBA to start pulling the front end of a brand new bike apart though. I'll live with it for now and see if I get used to it?

No. I kinda knew all roads led me back to one of these, as they are about the perfect commuter for me.

No, there is a complete lack of compression damping on the front. Reading up on them i'm not the only one to notice it.A few people have fitted these to theirs.
