Re: Box Sets, Mini series, films, etc.
Finally watched the last ever episode of Top Gear/The Grand Tour last night.
I've not bothered with much of TGT on Amazon and TG was also getting pretty tired before Clarkson had his steak tantrum.
Nevertheless, the final scene when he unplugged his mic and they all drove off in different directions got me in the feels a bit

I am not to sure I could stand another Kin, This Town or whatever. Can we not just move on from glorifying gangland?
Dept Q is worth a watch

Halfway through it, although it could do with subtitles as it's in Jock.
Why is it that only troubled cops who are loners and renegades are the only ones who can solve crimes, and even then, only by going against the book and pissing off the boss at every opportunity?

Have enjoyed Dept Q - as semi-Jockish myself and having 2 of them in my team at work, I class myself as bi-lingual
Not sure if I've posted this one but Bulletproof is pretty good - the 2 guys from Top Boy now recast as London cops, good banter and generally fun cop series. Worth a watch.

Dept Q was good with some meat on the bones. Good acting and felt honest in the complexities.

Just started watching Charlie and Ewan's Long Way Home.
Its a bit pedestrian with lots of time spent talking about sausages and camping.
Hmm

Andor series 2
OK so I'm only 4 episodes deep, but by jiggery this thing is soooooo slow, slower than series 1 if that's possible
I remember when Star Wars was a space western, not some drawn out political thriller
, give me wookies, bowcasters, drag racing speeders and light sabres any time, as they're a shit load more entertaining that watching some pompous evil official shuffle paperwork on some grey wet planet somewhere.

Another vote for Department Q- really enjoyed that
Watched Mobland- enjoyable but predictable and awful accents
‘Your Friends and Neighbours’ on apple. John Hamm is absolutely brilliant. This has probably been my favourite show this year.
Film: wife dragged me to the cinema to watch ‘Salt oath’. Wasn’t expecting much, ended up adoring it and have gone out to purchase all of Winn’s books.

'Warfare', the recent movie directed by Alex Garfield. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt31434639/
Gritty, realistic and brutal.

Went to see Mission Impossible : Final Reckoning
It was bloody awful - too long and a crap story
Cruises did get to do the running thing
Twice
Sound track was muffled in incomprehensible for a lot of the film.
Just complete nonsense

Hugh Grant in Heretic.
Should have been a taut, psychological thriller, making the most of Grant's excellent acting.
As it was it turned into a silly run-of-the-mill schlock horror story.
2/5

Re: Box Sets, Mini series, films, etc.
Found myself watching and enjoying Noel Edmond's Kiwi Adventure! I know he has a lot of haters, but for me he was part of my childhood, xmas days and saturday nights and I dont dislike him. TBH I never knew what even happened to him but the program told us how he was bankrupted by corrupt HBOS bankers but eventually got all his money back!
Anyway, the show is definitely rooted in the Clarksons Farm style and is one of those business struggles that aren't really astruggle as the main protagonist is loaded, ala Clarkson, but I'm enjoying it nethertheless.

Landman on Paramount - far better than expected, can't wait for season 2.
Texan oil folk story - good story line, funny and well cast characters.
