The bulls are held in pens with blokes standing on top poking them with sticks to annoy them. Before they're let out they get stuff sprayed in their eyes to blur their vision, they wave brightly coloured things in front of the bulls to give them something to aim at. If you ever get a chance to see this you really are praying for the bull to get someone.
