'course, there's nothing to stop you putting a green stripe plate on your V8 Mustang.

Had a work medical today. Was expecting the usual ten minutes that all the others ones have been - well the others were for various licences/cards to do with driving.

This is a full on work medical but to make sure the worker is protected !! So it was over an hour

Eye test, hearing test, pee test, blood pressure test (that last was apparently 123 over 90 - gobbledygook to me !!!) - not sure I'll ever get the results for anything else !!

Then a chat with the doctor about how work treats my handicap and if I'm happy. I am and they do listen so it's good for now.

She very strongly said that if I am ever unhappy about anything medical (handicap, working hours, security etc) I can ask them to make me another appointment and if all is ok, I have to go back in 3 years

Interestingly, I should have done this within the first 3 months of working for the winter boss (because it was a full time/all year round contract not seasonal) - another thing in the grey area of things he didn't quite do right :( :( :( (hope he sorts himself/his systems out soon before anything happens - we might not have go along at work but aside from his attitude as a boss I do admire him)

Anyway, nice gentle afternoon driving a pretty new but massively underpowered 10m bus - back to the same tomorrow, but a longer day :obscene-drinkingcheers: :obscene-drinkingcheers: :obscene-drinkingcheers:

120/80 is regarded as 'normal' so 120/90 in the circumstances of a medical is pretty good. A 1-off measurement is a bit limited but it will show up if it's particularly high or low and needs further examiniation/monitoring. I don't imagine the Doc will be very agitated about 120/90.

I think a few of us on here would be happy if the reading was ours. :D

Tonight I have given my parents the FocusOfDestiny (aka my trusty commuter, which I have replaced with the EV Cupra).

Basking in the glow of many 'good daughter' points as a direct result.

I think they've given me about four of their cast off cars over the years, so it's about time I returned the favour tbf 😆

Drove down the hill as roomie had a med appt about 65 miles away. Just before we were about to leave they closed the freeway closer to LA for some clusterfuck wreck. Decided to take the freeway & get off at exit before Vasquez Rocks. Ran into the gridlock 200 yards short of the exit. Bugger.
Took the exit & then followed nose to tail traffic for a few miles & they all took a left at a T, I went right & got open road. Gave the ST the berries.
Roomie panicing as she thought she would be late for her appt. (Me: *Oh ye of little faith*...)
Appt 10.45
Check in time 10.30

She calls to tell them she might be late. They said "10 minute leeway for the appt".. so we have until 10.55
I channel my inner m/c courier & we start making good progress (to put it mildly)
Roll up to the medical office at 10.53, she bolted from the ST, hit the elevator & strolled up the front desk at 10.55. 8-)

I know, I know - supposedly size doesn’t matter ! But I’m feeling somewhat out sized here cos my bus is a little under 10m and looks decidedly teeny compared to to the almost 13m one that parked in front ☹️☹️☹️

I went from a Transit minibus to a Leyland National in a weekend - I’d had a handling test on the LN but the first time I took one over on service I felt completely out of place - soon got used to it ( just realised it’s the only vehicle I’ve ever driven with a Turbo and that was 35 years ago - I’ve not owned many cars)

Explained the relationship between 1000ml and 1 kg to the wife.
Recipe required 34fl oz..........how heavy is that she screams!

Yeah yeah I know for the pedants it's 1005.xxxx ml, but a kg is close enough for jazz!

Woken up at 5am by the dog. Walked the dog. Coffee and then more coffee. Breakfast. Going to the beach in a short while after getting prescription for daughter first and co-codamel for my back which is playing up again, annoyingly... Quiet afternoon I hope!

Got up and started work at six, half asleep. Did what I needed to do then sat back in bed with a jug of coffee, got up did a weights workout then walked the dog. Came back to find a state of mild panic on one of the desks as I'd mis-typed a '7' as a '4' somewhere along the line. Easy done, but did result on the bank having 3 billion quid less in liquidity than anticipated.

Trip to the barbers, resulting in much hair being removed, probably the shortest cut since the days of being a student and sporting a flat top.But it looks neat, tidy and more than acceptable.

Met up with daughter one for a coffee, daughter two was too busy / too disorganised/ had to wait for half brother to sort himself out to make it. Lovely to have a catch up and chin wag, told her off ( ;) ) for not noticing my milestone of 3 stone off since end of April, talked about how I’d used Mounjaro and the news about the price hike, agreed a date to meet up for pizza party.

Went mooching around the Metro Centre, first time I’ve been there in years as I dislike the place, met up with daughter two and their half brother there, despite his mother ( ;) ) he’s turned into a lovely young man and we teased the girls by doing the bored bloke thing while they picked up and put back multiple items of clothing.

Headed home before the end of the football at Stadium of Light to avoid traffic, took the fox poo eating ginger retard (I love him really) for a run before sitting in the garden with a couple of beers whilst texting Geordie son in law to be a picture of the current standings in the Premier league, he’s at work at the moment but the humour of the moment won’t be lost on him. Took bets with daughters on what time tomorrow the Mackem son in law to be will actually arrive home after today’s result :D

Just about to tuck into the Singapore chow mein I ordered last night but couldn’t eat due to being full after the usual appetiser of salt & pepper chicken, there’s some of that left too!

Overall, a great day

To me he’s quite recognisable. I just saw him again. I think he’s staying on our campsite!

If it weren't for Gogglebox I'd not have a clue what he looks like, and if it weren't for your post I'd have no idea of his name.
