LOL TBH, my thoughts were - what sort of friend sends Cadbury's with 'bits' in it!!! LOL But he redeemed himself with the orange flavoured one!

Just went to the hospital shop for an ice cream to see four of the guys I recognise from the rehab centre in there. They are all in wheelchairs and were at the counter laughing and joking with the girl working there and asking for beer
She very clearly stated (for onlookers I think) that there was no alcohol for sale on site. Whilst reaching down some alcohol free 1664!
The guys paid up and wheeled their way out to the sort of entry hall place where there is a large 'bench/table' thing. It was just the right height for their 'beers' to go on the table and them to wheel up to it and sit chatting
Proper made me laugh, and smile cos they all looked happy to be in a group chatting and pretending to drink beer!! LOL

Was out for a leaving do last night at a Sam Smith pub. Odd pubs, as every drink is their own brand be it beer, cider or spirits. Not somewhere I'd choose to go if I'm honest.
At the bar I was faced with a selection of beer I'd never heard of, so went for the oddly named 'Alpine Lager'. A fairly bland and forgettable lager. Three pints in and I'm feeling relaxed but quite lucid. In fact everybody else was annoyingly loud and heading to boorish. Ordered up another round and bugger me with a cucumber, I see that Alpine Lager is 2.8%.
My initial feelings of grubbiness and shame were suddenly tempered by an epiphany, that being as I had to start work at 6am this morning, this might not be a bad shout, so I kept on it. Got in around 11ish and Mrs. Gremlin was surprised to see me not staggering around like a baby giraffe and we had a reasonably coherent conversation. Woke up at 5.45, logged on and felt fresh as a daisy, even to the point of riding in this morning, which I'd normally not risk.
In short, I have morphed into a Soft Shandy-ish Drinking Southerner.

Or a rufty-tufty miner.
(Traditional mining areas like South Wales, East Midlands and Yorks always had a weak beer option - often a mild, dark or light - so you could 'wash the dust away' with a pint or eight without tending towards the horizontal too quickly).

Sam Smiths pubs are great, their lager is like £1.50 a pint!

A mate was driving, so ordered a bottle of their 0% beer. Fuck me, it was vile. The glass was passed around just so that everybody could taste just how vile it was.

TBF I can get Bournville or at least similar here quite easily. But Cadbury's is seriously expensive here - and not available in the supermarket my French friend takes me to!! LOL So I do crave it a bit! Although, the one with the jelly/fizzypop 'stuff' in it I will be avoiding - spoils the chocolate!! LOL

Yeahbut Cadbury's is shite, it doesn't meet minimum EU standards for cocoa solids (or so I have been told). French choccy is way better. Or is it the sugar rush from Cadbury's you crave?
On the rare occasions I eat Cadbury's all I can taste is sugar.

At first glance I thought that read 'cloud cuckoo land'. Bit harsh, I thought...

Each to their own! Pre covid I'd started getting mostly dark chocs and didn't crave the Cadbury's as much - but since I've lost my taste (not overall, just the ability to taste food!!) it's the texture of the Cadbury's I like. And also it's a bit of a home comfort
Not at all keen on Milka (what everyone here tells me to eat) but do like some of the basic chocs in the supermarkets, prefer their dark chocs
But, seriously looking for the odd bit of comfort food in the rehab centre that has no one in the kitchen that can actually make a decent meal!!!

I did, for work. Haven't worked since 22nd Feb cos I'm broken

Also, I go to Geneva - you need a mortgage to get a toblerone in the airport and I rarely go any further, if I did I'd probably need at least 1.5 mortgages!! LOL

Being sat outside on a Sunday morning, cup of tea, listening to the church bells in the village interspersed with the numerous helicopters heading to Silverstone which is just down the road as the crow flies.

I finished a 'thing' for a friends baby yesterday. Didn't take long to do but had to wait for some stuffing for the lavender duck!! LOL
It's called a 'doudou' on the pattern, but a 'cuddle/sunggle cloth' maybe??
