I’m heading to the Lake District to spend a week building one of these:

At Fyne Boats near Kendal.

I decided I’d rather ‘do a thing’ than sit by a pool, wander around a city, etc.
Nice! Great minds...

In a similar but different way I have next week off and am doing a week-long timber framing course 👍😎

Epic! That looks fabulous. I foresee a timber built workshop for the hapless one at some point on your horizon.
Heh - we already built him one (a quadruple garage to be precise!), but from a quick-garden kit - I was very impressed with it to be fair.

We'll see how well this goes as to what gets built as a result - I, of course, have great plans, but my optimism may get a dose of reality 🤣

Drilled 2x 100mm holes in limestone slabs for the pool steps - what a bastard to drill through!

Just had a rummage through the garage for unused shit to sell on ebay, so far have found a set of 4 alloy wheels and 1 of the 6 pushbikes in there! :D

They sell it down south too, it's like 8% Monster Energy drink. Looney juice.

Tonight after work I have mostly fitted a bog and a sink.

Sort of.

The bottle waste for the sink didn't fit and the tap pipes are two inches too short.

Waiting for the silicone on the bog to go off before I go christen it.

Got new neighbours in the rental next door. They moved in last week and we introduced ourselves over the fence. That’s the only time we’ve seen them.

A couple and their kids originally from Sri Lanka but lived in London. A bit of a difference moving up to a small Scottish town.

Anyway the bell went tonight and it was the husband and one of his kids with a bowl of chicken and potato balls deep fried. Presumably a Sri Lankan dish. Absolutely fabulous.

So I guess we’ve passed the good neighbour test. Now we need to give them something back.

Tapered peg & a slightly offset hole in the tenon to pull it tight?

I do have the best brother!! I just received another red cross parcel.

He's horrified at the meals, so last time I got salt and pepper grinders - today

Image

I'm actually more excited at the fudge than the sauces, but definitely not complaining :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:

AND - met another English here, not only English, she's from a 3 valleys resort and we sort of know each other on FB

Sooo - pretty sure we'll get to chat a bit on quiet days, and she offered that, if any of her friends are coming to visit, she'll ask them to meet my friend so I can get a bag of books from her !! :) :)

Finding out that it's probably going to take much longer than I thought to get out sucked, but the balance is meeting nice people and having hte best brother!!

And this afternoon I got a goody bag from a fellow spazzy sports person and then got to go in the pool for the pool therapy

It is so good. I still can't put weight on the bad leg, but I can move it so much easier, further, higher!!! And they let me do some shoulder exercises too - although I might have done a bit much of that  Never was that good at knowing when to stop, and it's been a while since I've done those exercises - they feel so easy in the water and I forget that they aren't!!

Just got to get through tonights terrible meal (putting of starting it as I have to spend too long picking out the chickpeas :( :( ) and hopefully I'll sleep really well !!! :obscene-drinkingcheers:
