Anyone bought a mattress in a box recently?

The Tempur memory foam ones lasted longer than 100 days but it wasn't that long after, even with regular rotation and flipping (the ones that can be flipped), that you were sleeping in a trench.

After a while, you'd rotate/flip it and think 'Aaah. That's better!'. Until the second night. So yep, the memory seems to remember the wrong state rather than the right one.

I thought Premier Inn mattresses were Hypnos (I thought they actually bought Hypnos) but apparently they changed to Silentnight in 2023. Silentnight make them to their spec. Usually have a decent night's kip in a PI so, at the price, I'd say that's a good call.

(We picked our mattress after a hotel stay were I'd had the best night's sleep in ages. Just the right firmness etc. I stripped the bed back to check the make/type and there was a rota for turning and vacuuming on it that the hotel had added. ).

I looked at the Premier Inns offering - but out bed is 200 x 160 cm - so a continental kings , rather than a UK one. And Premier don't do that size

Emma have a 10 year guarantee. Our dementia mattress was replaced after about three years. Sent proof of purchase and photos of the sunken areas, replacement arranged.

The 200 night trial is to decide whether you like it or not.

I feel the same way about them after having two.

I might, just, consider one on a guest bed that's used infrequently....but probably not. Foam is for for camping (and a good, inflatable Thermarest is better).

Perhaps I'll go with the premier inn mattress, they seem comfortable when I've stayed there.

Last Saturday morning we realised that our mattress (a Sealy Back-something-or-other) was over ten years old

I idly looked on Which? to see what the options were to replace it with. Their number two overall mattress was also their number one 'for back pain sufferers' mattress, despite it not being classed as firm - which is what we've always gone for in the past.
