A favorite bike from your past?

Significant because it was the first, at 18, and it made a great noise. Mine was exactly like that, colour, extras, etc. The smoke screen came at no charge.

Had to scrap it when I ran out of money and it needed a new barrel. 6 guineas, (£6 6s - £6 30p) and I didn’t have it.

It’s got to be this full power kmx 125, first bike after passing test and used for exploring green lanes, commuting and being generally being a young hooligan.

My first bike, way back in 1964, was a dog.. A BSA C12 dog to be precise. Less said about that the better.

My next bike, in 2003, was a beauty. A 795 cc Triumph T100. Easy enough for a born-again to wobble about on a slow speed, but wring it's neck and it would go. Took me as far as the Alps, several times.

This thing! My old GPZ500S, bought new in 1997 I put 75k on it in 15 months before selling it to another courier, it turned up 10 years later and one of my ex's bought it. She's owned it for 15 years and it now has 119k on it. The original pipes are long rotted away and it's had new wheels at some point. I'm tempted to buy it back but my wife would kill me.

I had a GPz500 it was great fun, it really brought out the worst in me and I thrashed it everywhere.

YAS1 125 Yamaha twin...mental for a little 'un, and my first bike at 30 somethimg...or late twenties, followed by among others a BS25 SS Gold Star...great but a hand grenade.....
