Proper ride out today when I wasn't trying to beat the light and not rush anything. Out to J&S for a brew and then the long way home via Whitchurch. Really liking this bike. Much better to get it's leg stretched to get used to it. The longer wheelbase/swingarm give it a lot more stability in the faster sweeping corners, it's a really nice bike to ride. Loving the wind protection, just makes doing longer rides much less tiring. Popped it into sport mode and it felt a bit more like the MT than the street mode I had it in before. Very similar mpg to the MT, softer mapping helps. It definitely feels more refined than the MT. Gearbox and quick shifter are slicker, suspension is more plush and the fueling even better again, not that the SP was bad.

Funny as i was just looking and mulling over a nice Tracer 700 with hard colour coded luggage. Not long got this Fazer so probably should just keep it a year at least.

Rad guard fitted, tank pads ordered. Planning a nice day trip this Saturday as long as nothing else gets in the way.

As posted in the other thread, 600 mile service due very soon. I do miss the urgency of the MT, definitely had a more aggressive map, but I'd say that's the only thing. It's much more comfortable, and it handles really nicely.

My thoughts as well, bit of a challenge that front end. But the Tracer 900 is a cracking bike, does 95% of things really well. I thoroughly enjoyed riding one, albeit it was the older model than this. I did seriously consider buying one.

How about a tinted short puig screen and swap when on a trip. Look a lot better me reckon.

Now that the first service is done I've been opening it up a bit more now. Surprised how different the engine feels compared to the SP. Obviously it's carrying an extra 25-30kg, but the engine feels softer. There's a nice deep howl in the mid-range quite similar to the SP.

Been struggling to setup the Garmin Nav app. But the dash is very nice, a huge upgrade from my SP. Nice to have everything I need on one screen. Returning a smidge over 60mpg.

I never bothered with the Yamaha/ garmin sat nav on my xmax techmax, i got a quad lock and used g oogle maps.

It is a bit crap though, but I fell for the gizmo's with my xmax, when I could have really done without the techmax bit, got the standard one and saved some ££. I guess it's like car sat nav's, they're generally a bit crap and I also end up using g oogle maps so a bit of a waste of a vehicle function. The new car has apple carplay, so maps is simple.

The only update...

I can't get the bike up on the center stand. Is there a technique to doing it? I've never had a bike with a center stand before.

My T300 is a sod to get on the centre stand so I have a short plank thickness piece of wood that I wheel the back wheel onto before trying nowadays.

My two H1s demand more of my back than I like to give,so to make it much easier I roll the from wheel onto a little ramp. Does the same job as Ditchfinder's method.

Actually a chock under the front will work better won't it as then you will effectively be rolling backwards 'downhill'
