I was going to put higher wattage bulbs in , but the relay works, so if they blow I'll stick 21w ones inA_morti wrote: Sat Jan 03, 2026 8:46 pm Hondas usually have 21w indicators as standard, not 10w.
I had some Honda replica indicators off eBay or Amazon or whatever. They were advertised as having 21w bulbs but turned up with all 4 marked 10w.
No worries, I've got a 10w relay spare, so fit that... And they still flashed fast. On one side only.
Figured out by swapping parts around that 2 of the 4 bulbs caused fast flashing. So maybe even if they were marked 10w, they were actually less than that. Maybe 8, maybe 5, who knows?
I guess you could test resistance across the filament, but I just binned those two bulbs and used a couple spares instead.

I've had a few cbr's 6 or 7 now.
I had gone out to buy a cbr when I found the zzr11.
I never really yelled with it, even after losing about 16kg for it, the cbr is approx 60 kg lighter.
MOT at 1400 today
Re: Cbr600fx
MOT passed, one advisory on head bearings , slightly notchy straight on
Now it's running on 4 cylinders it's much better surprisingly, quite tiny and jacked up at the rear, currently lots of weight on my wrists, I'll have to get stronger wrists

Don't carry your weight on your wrists keep your arms relaxed and carry your weight on your thighs. Sit on your bike and slowly bring your chin down to the tank without holding the bars, you'll feel what I meanSsray wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 2:39 pm currently lots of weight on my wrists, I'll have to get stronger wrists
63 and still loving clip ons
Re: Cbr600fx
Had a ride yesterday only 1 miles or so, needed fuel for the commute.
I've taken at least 20mm of preload off of the rest shock, it's supposed to be 13mm and a 800lb per inch spring according to nitron, still adjusting the damping, if you have a nitron shock they are very good at giving information.
The seat moves when I sit on it now, I was being bounced around on the first ride home, I've also set the forks to midway, they were full damping and preload.
Doesn't feel any slower than the zzr11, more revs everywhere but still happy at low rpm in town.
I stripped and cleaned the front brake lever as it wouldn't adjust outwards, the lever was too close to the bars for me, seems sorted now

My cbr600fx has a fuel leak, it's the bit where the tap.bolts to the tank, 32mm nut wit the tap inside it.
It's supposed to have a ring which was missing on mine, I sourced a that 'ill do one from the bike shop ,it didn't work.
Next I found a updated Honda part , tried it today and it's better but still leaking.
I'm thinking of fitting the same id oring but a thicker version of I can find it.
The tap also doesn't have the internal in tank filter , but from what I can see this doesn't effect the tap being fuel tight.
Is there a fuel proof sealant I can use in addition to the oring? It's gravity feed not under pressure

Re: Cbr600fx
As it doesn't have the internal filter, would it not be better to buy either a used tap from Ebay or a pattern tap?
They were a popular bike, there must be lots of spare taps/rebuild kits out there

I'm thinking the F3 fits the same way so that may be a possibility
Re: Cbr600fx
The tap.broke today........it seems the M22 nut had been overtighten by myself, the FX/fy taps are a stupid price from Honda and no longer available,so I've ordered a cbr900 one, same (I hope) M22 nut to tighten to.the tank, it's a vacuum type so I'll just run it in the reserve position, it comes with the internal filter etc
Re: Cbr600fx
The new fuel tap arrived yesterday and as it was dark and I have to work outside I fitted it, bit of a pain, I think the initial threads got damaged.
Checked this morning and no fuel leak, needs adjusting tomorrow as it's a bit bigger than the std one which isn't vacuum.

Re: Cbr600fx
So I bought some fuel proof sealant that I used on the tank and tap interface and some fuel proof jewels that I fixed the tap with.
So you don't have to reread stuff, the original tap is no longer available, I broke mine doing it up to tight.
I bought a new pattern cbr900(97-98) tap and removed the vacuum part so it's on or off only , it decided to leak from the vacume side, so I used some jbweld that petrol proof , I made a little sausage of it and filled the groove for the normal seal, tighten the back plate and left it to set
I arrived at work today by cbr with no smell of fuel or puddle underneath.
Hope it stays that way.
I also fitted mirrors from a vfr750 or 800, I had to bolt to the original cbr hole at the front and drill a new hole for the back , it's not the original plastic so I'm not too bothered, I can now almost see behind

I bought a jellymould one years ago for a few hundred quid. The bike was in bits and hadn't run in a long time. When I built it and fired it up for the first time it ran like a mouse eating tissue paper. Made my Kawa sound like an old rattle box.![]()

Re: Cbr600fx
So I've done about 60 miles commuting on it, much better for my needs, no slower than the zzr11 and much quicker round corners, it wants to turn the zzr11 didn't.
Just need to get used to the lower bars and set the suspension up a bit better

Re: Cbr600fx
I've found the bars a bit low, probably too many bikes and getting on a bit
I fitted 20mm risers yesterday, I also swapped the winter neck warmer thing for a much lighter silky type one, I found the winter one was bunching up behind my helmet so to look forward I had the force my head back, the combination of the new neck thing and the 20mm rise in the bars has helped a lot, only used one to commute yesterday but my neck felt better and I think I got a better night's sleep.
