Unfortunatey I had to relocate the rectifier/regulator when I fitted the DOHC engine so it's no longer fitted.

This front sprocket cover is also all stuck together with JB Weld.

Anybody else got any pics of projects using JB Weld?. Anybody getting inspiration to make bike bits?. Seem to be getting a lot of views but not many comments!.

I'm very impressed by those panels. I have used JB weld a fair bit. One was fixing the crankcase on a 1931 Sunbeam Model 10. The bike is semi-wet sump and the area of the timing cover that should have sealed to the crankcase was chipped and hacked about to souldn't seal. Added to which it was a very narrow sealing face. As the model is very rare I wasn't confident about having it welded just in case so the trusty JB weld came in very handy.

I'd not seen JB-Weld before but I now feel that I need, nay, must have some.
I'm sure I'll be inspired to find lots of things to do with it.

I did have a look for pics of the JB weld repair but can't find any. But this is the bike. The offending area is around the plug below the exhaust.

Here's a rear brake slave cylinder guard that I made from some 3mm scrap ally plate that was rolled around a 20mm former polished and then shaped. JB Weld was then used to fix the mesh behind the cut out.

This thread reads like someone discovering bread for the first time. Anyway, if you google "dave g" jb weld you'll see that Dave is quite the enthusiast for JB Weld.

I sold it on as I needed the room for another project. Re value: bikes like these have depreciated rapidly over the last couple of years. I covered my costs when I sold it so was quite happy although I suspect the buyer - if he still has it - may be less so.
I did ride it a few times but have to say hand gear change and feeble brakes made it something of a challenge. Here it is with me on it:

All looks good. No projects or pics as I have the mechanic ability of a blind badger with no arms. I do love someone else's project though.

It did indeed but as I say needed to pass it on. My current project (a BSA/ Suzuki DRZ-400 with a Steib sidecar) has no JB weld used in its construction. Yet.......
