I'd take that...with a bit more cash for servicing.

Fuck me, that's especially horrid!Taipan wrote: Wed May 06, 2026 12:08 pm The 2002 Ford Thunderbird is a modern reimagining of a 1950s American classic. With its retro-inspired styling and V8 power, it was designed to capture the spirit of the original Thunderbird while still being very much at home in the early 2000s.
This particular example started life in Connecticut, USA, before making the journey over to the UK in 2009. Since then, it’s been lightly used and well looked after, eventually finding its way to us here at Bridge Classic Cars, where it has been recommissioned and prepared for its next chapter.
Our Thunderbird has a 3.9-litre V8, paired with an automatic gearbox and rear-wheel drive. This car has a traceable story for large parts of its life, and this could easily be a comfortable and enjoyable daily drive for the lucky winner of this competition.

Always had a soft spot for Maseratis.
Oh, absolutely. Hence the comment about the servicing.IccyV2 wrote: Thu May 07, 2026 4:17 amA 2012 Maserati is going to throw up a few maintenance bills.Count Steer wrote: Wed May 06, 2026 1:13 pmI'd take that...with a bit more cash for servicing.![]()

I’d run a mile even if they gave it me for free.
I would have had one (egged on by my Mrs!) as a company car...but it wasn't an option on the list.Taipan wrote: Thu May 07, 2026 8:36 am Sounds like the best (read only) way to own a Maserati is to win one! Yeah, below the high-tide mark on Camber Sands beach.
My mate has a company Maserati, it was his dream car and he’s the CEO for a royal family members private businesses so he’s had Maseratis for a few years now. When I meet him for coffee he’s usually not in it because it’s being repaired.Count Steer wrote: Thu May 07, 2026 8:55 amI would have had one (egged on by my Mrs!) as a company car...but it wasn't an option on the list.Taipan wrote: Thu May 07, 2026 8:36 am Sounds like the best (read only) way to own a Maserati is to win one! There was nothing very compelling on the list at all but one colleague bought a s/h 911 and took the car allowance cash as a servicing fund (he had the car serviced by a Porsche main dealer so he probably had to top up the fund). He eventually quit due to stress and trained to be a professional French polisher...and was very happy...but I suspect the Porker mutated into a Transit
).
I thought the current Stellantis cars were supposed to have got some of the reliability issues sorted (but also made the offerings a tad unexeceptional at the same time).IccyV2 wrote: Sat May 09, 2026 4:01 amMy mate has a company Maserati, it was his dream car and he’s the CEO for a royal family members private businesses so he’s had Maseratis for a few years now. The MC20 is a nice looking thing, but it's got a turbo V6 [spits].Count Steer wrote: Sat May 09, 2026 7:20 amI thought the current Stellantis cars were supposed to have got some of the reliability issues sorted (but also made the offerings a tad unexeceptional at the same time).IccyV2 wrote: Sat May 09, 2026 4:01 amMy mate has a company Maserati, it was his dream car and he’s the CEO for a royal family members private businesses so he’s had Maseratis for a few years now. They've had periods where their output has been downright ugly too. I guess the magic is in the name and it lingers on from the days of Fangio but there have been a few v desirable ones on the, rather rocky, journey.
I guess it may be a bit like 'never meet your heroes' - owning a Maserati would kill the desire.Winning one would be the cheapest way of finding out!
Good man.

Exactly that.IccyV2 wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 8:06 am Surely you enter competitions for mind blowing stuff that you wouldn’t normally be able to own?
And then you can win a Volvo…
