It's a bit parky here on TenerifeTaipan wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2025 1:37 pm Just looked at the snow forecast for the weekend and it looks like we'll cop for it here. So I/m considering putting Yorick and Piranha on ignore, the warm, smug gits!![]()

I promised Baby D I would wish for Snow if I 'won' our recent chicken wishbone, which I did.
Apologies in advance.

Well, we finally have something sorted.Yorick wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2025 12:03 pm Sat at the airport waiting to fly to Tenerife. Going to see a rheumatologist tomorrow to try to get to the bottom of the shit I've been through for 2 months.
The doc looked at all the hospital visit reports, blood tests, x-rays and MRI scans and found the problems.
First is compressed discs in my neck causing shoulder and arms pain.
Also rheumatoid arthritis causing other pains.
He's given me 2 meds with plans to increase or decrease them to find a working level for each problem.
Feels so good to have a plan, rather than just painkillers to mask the pain.
Doc seems happy that nothing too drastic long term.
Buzzing now. Thanks for the good wishes.
Wanna book for Portimao, but gotta wait a bit. Can't wait to get back on track

Cheers, 8 hours at work plus another 2 hours at home “planning” for the snow, which may not come, or it might. Still, spent a lot of the taxpayers money in preparation!!Mr. Dazzle wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2025 2:38 pm I promised Baby D I would wish for Snow if I 'won' our recent chicken wishbone, which I did.

Can’t wait to see how many rules get thrown out the window over the next 48/72 hours by my management, could be an interesting couple of days!!
Enjoy, go sledging, roast chestnuts, throw snowballs, just don’t venture onto the M1 as it may make me have to work.

Wasn't exactly a surprise.....but after they'd emailed me over Xmas to come in today, I thought I'd missed the cull.
Still got my access fob if anyone fancies a self help session at Laithwaites!

Climbing the walls, decided today was as good a day as any to pack in the vaping game, thankfully I'm WFH on my tod as I'd quite like to punch someone in the face.

Re: A right now thread
I’ve just pick up a sheet of 6mm MDF which the timber yard kindly cut into 300mm x 2400mm strips so they’d fit in the car.
Plan is to sand and paint the long edges before ripping 75mm wide strips off them to hopefully line a door lining which weirdly tapers from 75mm to less than 50mm wide and also sits 5-6mm below the plaster, making the task of fitting flat and straight architrave nigh on impossible. I’m hoping once everything is filled, primed, undercoated and glossed it’ll look good to the blind man galloping past on his horse.
Getting a couple of coats of primer on is today’s job, tomorrow’s jobs will be cutting, fitting and swearing.

If you want to reduce the workload, I'm available to do some freelance swearing while you get on with the cutting and fitting.Silly Car wrote: Wed Jan 08, 2025 12:02 pm

At Baby Ds first session of Snoacademy.
Ridiculously cute seeing a bunch of 3-10 year olds all kitted up for Skiing or Boarding.
