Re: A right now thread
I'm in the private Letoon hospital in Fethiye .
Had the hip hop hip op yesterday afternoon. It was done under a general anaesthetic on the advice of the cardiologist here as it would be easier for the team to monitor my irregular heart beat.
Had a walk up and down the corridor and just back from an Xray. Getting a hard time from M for not taking it slowly.

Re: A right now thread
Dunno if its the same for hips, but when i had my knees replaced i asked the surgeon if it need time for the glue to go off and how long before I can get on with physio. He replied the glue was as set as it'd ever be before i woke up, and the sooner I got on with physio the better.Yambo wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 6:57 am I'm in the private Letoon hospital in Fethiye .

Re: A right now thread
Just told my wife i'm taking her to Miller & Carter tonight! I thought she'd be pleased as its one of her favourite restaraunts, but, no, she said we're not going there in January!
When I said what difference does January make to their steaks? She said nothing, but you wont like it in there as its January and it'll be too quiet. She is correct and its a good point. I dislike formal and/or quiet restaraunts. So Bas Vegas it is.

If you can wobble your way down to Fidan’s on Friday I’ll buy you a beer to celebrate.

Never mind, Jaffa Cakes are officially cakes anyway, so says the law

The court was adjudicated by Mr Donald Potter QC, who found in favour of McVitie's and ruled that whilst Jaffa Cakes had characteristics of both cakes and biscuits, the product should be considered a cake and not a biscuit, meaning that VAT is not paid on Jaffa Cakes in the United Kingdom.

Having Googled 'Jaffa Cakes ingredients' I'm not sure he got it right. I'd have ruled 'neither'.Mr. Dazzle wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 8:52 pm Never mind, Jaffa Cakes are officially cakes anyway, so says the law
