Spain have only conceded one goal so far...

I watched the game on a big screen on the local park with a couple of hundred Spanish peeps. An excellent atmosphere and well done Spain. Brit bar tonight.

First game of this tournament that I've watched. I went up to resort to watch with some english friends in a french bar !!

Luckily they managed to get some stools by the bar or I wouldn't have been able to stay  two of my mates (one of them being the keenest on football of the group) is tiny! He and his wife are probably just a little over 5ft - I have a photo of them sitting on the end of the bar to be able to see the telly :) :) :)

I didn't see a huge amount of the screen from my protective corner, but it's the best match I've seen in years. Apparently the players can get penalized for an obvious dive now, seems to have helped!

Was confused there wasn't more of a replay about the "offside goal" - having finally had someone explain the rule to me in a way I totally get (and other people re-explain in the way that's confused me for 40+ years  ) I thought that was a bit close to call (it was in the bit of the screen I could see!), Simon wasn't convinced it was off side, but hey - Spain won

Bar was very subdued by half time; much easier to see the screen for the second half! The bar maid kept screaming "ALLEZ" anytime a French was even vaguely in the vicinity of the scoring area!! Think we all needed ear plugs, but no one was going to ask her to be quiet!!

We've got a storm warning here for this evening and there's only two of us available to meet up and neither of us are as full on footie as Simon, so I'm not sure I'll drive up for the match in a storm (windy road lined by trees :o ) so we might text through the match from our respective houses!!

They just commented that England have made 4 semi finals in last 5 tournaments

Not a bad record 👌

But if they win, nobody will remember that.
Maybe we should do it back to them?
