I give you Ninja, laser eye cat of the compost heap in his new to him garden. Poor lad is terrified of the trains that trundle past our back garden, so it is a case of dash and splash!

Woke up this morning to one normal hand and one resembling Miss Piggy! Just off to the chemist to collect my course of penicillin, well I would if the GP is ever going to release it for me to collect!

WD , Do you know what caused ? My hand went like that after a bad dog-bite , and cellulitis was diagnosed . Can be very nasty so don't take it lightly.......

Do women do that lying on your arm / hand for half an hour thing so it feels like it's someone else, asking for a friend

Thanks T. I'll keep an eye on it. Defo cellulitis according to the medics and it's still expanding up and down my arm.

Struggling to work out how I got it TBH! Had a redness late yesterday around my wrist but couldn't spot anything obvious. Tried to work out if I'd had a run in with some plants gardening but didn't do any yesterday. This morning the swelling, itchiness, redness and discomfort had spread. I can just see a tiny pin prick and small lump on my wrist now it's swollen, so I can only guess some small mean beastie had a chomp on me! I clearly haven't been eating enough garlic lately. The itchiness is doing my head in!

Yours sounds like it could have been worse, what with the dog bite though. Out of interest, how long did it take to go and did you have a course of penicillin? I've just collected 7 days worth.....

I think about one to two weeks . I remember being diagnosed antibiotics , but cannot recall if penicillin or something else . Keep an eye out for a red line ( which may not be all that distinct ) running up arm from " wound " . It can be the start of septicemia .....not good....!

Mark where the red line is every night so you can track its progress, either up or down your arm.

I've had cellulitis twice, I can't remember which antibiotics I was given but they were IIRC both once a day intravenously.
