Honda should have made the 250/300 rally with a 450 motor. This should sell well as it’ll have enough power to get places at a decent speed and enough off road ability when there. My 250 rally was great but needed another 15hp, spec wise this seems that bike

The 450 wouldn't meet Euro emission standards, it's why Suzuki no longer sell the DRZ in Europe, and the road legal one of them had a milder inlet cam and air injection into the exhaust to get it through emissions rules 24 years ago.

They did didn't they? But made it 25hp so not much up on the 300.

...and they're £9.5k.

Hopefully, it'll be quieter than the old one. I always fancied one until a colleague pulled up on one. Sounds like a toolbox falling down the stairs!

The water jacket should quieten things down a little.
I saw a report from the launch that said there wasn't a single bolt on the new bike used on the old one.

Hope they're using better quality than before as the original rusted and corroded if there was a cloud in the sky.
A lovely bike ruined by shit build quality.

It certainly looks more premium, looking forward to some ride reviews, wonder how much it'll cost, haven't seen any hints yet . Any guesses?

Pushing 5k probably. Old one's seem to be going for 4k new.

I saw a figure of £7k.
I hope its wrong.
It needs to be cheaper than a CRF300 Rally, which is £6.5k

I've just seen some blurry pics of the 'Rally' version of the Himalayan.
It's got a different exhaust end can, a long one piece MX stylee seat and most importantly... wheels that allow tubeless tyres (just like GS ones).

New interceptors are about 5.5k Thought they'd be less than this.

if I had to bet, I'd say £5999 for the base model and £6499 for the Rally.
It's got Japanese suspension and premium clocks.

Are they going to keep selling the aircooled Himalayan? If Enfield aren't careful I think they'll alienate the customer base that they've built up over the last few years. The prices have been slowly catching up with Japanese competition, compare the price of a Interceptor to a Z650/MT 07/ SV650, it's no longer the bargain it was.
I don't think the air cooled Himalayan competed against any other bikes, likewise the aircooled 350's,the Enfields are quite disinct, It looks like this 450 will go against the CRF Honda & the Voges,so RE will have to prove their product to a new market sector

Have you seen how Indian emissions standards have been moving?

Afaiac...they're a novelty bike, something different. If they get greedy UK sales will drop big time.

The looks are getting better but it's definitely too 'soft' now. The harsh horizontal lines of the original on the fork covers and the cooling fins made it look rugged. This is all rounded off lines and much blander I think.
Triumph threw a massive spanner in the pricing prospects I'd say. I struggle to see how RE can price this higher than the new 400 Triumphs with a straight face.
