Bit lower i reckon.
Yup. IIRC cvilla is a bit lower down but I can't remember where. Heck of a long commute maybe?

Count, yes it's Cumbria (just below that border wall bit!) So the pic is near top of Hardknott looking west, the road is OK as traffic is light, don't go in mid-summer or if you are tip-toeing on a bike!

Which one do you prefer riding, blue or orange. ?
It's not straightforward.
Mister Blue handles much better, none of the 70s wobbles and weaves, but you need to be
really careful and don't forget to leave a
big margin for drum brakes. There is absolutely nothing approaching an emergency stop, should you fuck up.
Mister Orange handles well hairy on bends at speeds of 80mph +. The clutch action and throttle are much heavier than Mister Blue, but while the single front disc is shit by today's standards,it's not as downright dangerous as a drum front.
If Mister Blue had some brakes,it would be a clear winner.
So what is it you think that makes the difference, handling-wise? Couldn't you sneak a cheeky twin disc conversion onto Mr. Blue?...

Been over there many times. Growing up in Bradford meant the Dales and Lakes were our playground

No idea, could be shocks, could be forks. Could be the Bridgestones, the H1a runs Roadriders, though to be fair the B's rear 57 is almost done and well squared off.
I just cut my cloth and ride the bikes for what they are, rather than trying to make them what they're not.
It teaches me humility too.

Wise words. Trying to turn a late 60s/early 70s bike into something more 'modern' would mean going down a very deep rabbit hole...

There's hundreds of trails and paths here.
One of my fave routes is about 3 hours using quite a few together
Only ever do it clockwise.
Today decided to do it other way
Was great fun and had fun remembering where it went the wrong way round
Had some unexpected difficult bits
These pics are from one of my fave places. Amazing views over Famara and the Teguise ridge. Beautiful mountain range

A run back to where I grew up, Fakenham, to blow out the cobwebs and test that rebuilding the front brake master cylinder sorted out the brakes (it did). Fantastic bike, still hugely capable on the road, awesome engine and actually pretty comfortable.

Went to a well attended car/bike/truck show yesterday with the GPz11, didn't take a single pic...

Out early today, the traffic looked shite coming back. Roads full of pedally bikes and wanker vans. Maybe get out tomorrow when all the bank holidays are back where they should be.

I did a recce of a ride I'm running next weekend and what an excellent time I had. I'm pretty pleased with the route, just a gnarly, moss down the middle lane to remove and it will be super. The weather held out, very good conditions and managed to avoid the majority of the Hastings May Day ride massive. Stopped at the Headcorn Aerodrome cafe to find it closed because "it's under new management and they don't bother to open unless they think it might be busy".
Took my mate Tone' along for the ride and sent him a link to this forum telling him that he may like it because it's bunch of old blokes talking about bikes that I don't remember.

Another Thursday, another bar. We had originally planned on going up into the hills but the weather forecast isn't good today, so a flatter route instead. I have treated myself to an Insta360, once I've got it sussed out I should be able to post pics of the ride, there are stunning landscape here but we never stop to take photos.

Took the Triumph for its first outing this morning, all good , although the 'running in' revs are set quite low.
