'We are expecting a frost is due'...??? Maybe she stumbled over the words or the autocue went wild.Rockburner wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2024 4:12 pm"... frost is due ..." ?Count Steer wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2024 4:00 pmFrost/prostitute?Rockburner wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2024 3:30 pm

The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

The RAF Typhoon Display Team have revealed the newly painted display aircraft for the 2024 display season at Royal Air Force Coningsby.
The aircraft paint scheme includes features that commemorate D-Day, with 2024 being the 80th Anniversary of the Allies invading Europe.
The aircraft is painted in a 1944 era ‘Day Fighter’ scheme. The scheme remembers a Hawker Typhoon of 257 Squadron, FM-G. On D-Day, this aircraft was flown by Pilot Officer Denzel Jenkins, who became Officer Commanding 257 Squadron and was later decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross.

That does make it sound a bit like an un-provoked territory grab...

I worked at Lucas Aerospace in Bradford. It was on the old English Electric site.
They built the Lighning there.
There were still lines on the wall at far end of the perimeter wall to line the guns up with.

Re: utterly random picture thread.
I saw an electric classic Mini and an electric E-type go hacking past today. Kinda cheating though, cause one of neighbours does the conversions
The E-type still had exhaust pipes!

An interesting drive today!
Got significantly worse after that and navigator got told to stop waving a camera around whilst I was trying to keep us alive!

Re: utterly random picture thread.
Last week Waitrose installed a deliberately wonky billboard to demonstrate recent price drops.
But the creative was lost on Wandsworth council's health and safety dept who, after a ring-in from a punter, decided to fence off the pavement believing it to be a hazard.
Cue loads of news articles and free publicity.

Re: utterly random picture thread.
See that space between the Blantons and Jack single barrel, that where the Woodford was sitting before I had a hankering for a couple of Old Fashioned's
Single Barrel is a decent enough drop, the Bonded was bought to just try, it's better than regular Jack but not worth the premium it attracts

I loves Makers Mark and the 101 Wild Turkey.
Have you ever had the Wild Turkey Rate Breed, that stuff is proper braincell killer.
The best JD used to be Silver Select, but you only ever found it in Airport Duty Free and I've not seen a bottle for a few years now.
