Not really insignificant to me but made me very happy and probably pretty insignificant to anyone else!!!

Had made plans on to go to Chambery on thursday afternoon as BF finished work at 13:30 so we planned an afternoon of late lunch and a couple of drinks. He was on earlies all week, so would be starting work at 6:30 so no point suggesting we stay somewhere thursday night

When we chatted weds afternoon he said "So, we bringing overnight bags??"

First time HE'S suggested an overnight visit - and in between early shifts too!!

So I was very very happy


(Of course, the bastard storm on Weds night and Thursday nearly kyboshed all plans, but I broke some rules and made it to Chambery!!! )

If you can get them, I really really really really recommend the Dakine gloves with the built in wristguard. I'm on my 3rd or fourth pair. I struggled to find them this time, so I bought 2 pairs !!

I don't think they make 'em for kids by the looks of it.

The only gear she has at the moment is gloves, coat and trousers. Already contemplating the fact we're gonna have to fit her out properly soon

Helmet mate, you must get her a helmet!!
I'm surprised the indoor slopes don't insist on them ??
If Dakine don't do her size gloves, some regular wrist guards are a good alternative.

She does wear a helmet and they do insist on them, she just wears one of the loaners. You're not allowed on the slopes without a helmet and with any exposed skin (except your face) - even if you're just doing sledging.

Her own helmet is the next thing to buy.

Fowlers Parts

My speedo drive lost the lugs on the plastic insert. Got recommended Fowlers over Wemoto so thought i would give them a bash. Found and ordered the part Last night and got an email to say it will be here tomorrow. Bloody good for a bank holiday weekend i thought.

Part came in now in the bike. Think they were trying to shave weight off to give me more power as this alleged part has holes around the top of the ring where the lugs are It works though and thats the main thing

My campervan insurance has gone down! First year it was just over £300, next year it doubled to £600 but this year its £380! No changes in levels of cover that i can see? Oh well, good news it is then!

My home insurance just renewed, it went from £198 to £190.

Result.

Then I added cover for my new watch and it went up £41!

Went to the doctor just now as needed a prescription for an Xray before I see the shoulder surgeon

Many pluses -

- no queue!!! Normally I have to wait ages (you can't make appointments at this one, turn up and wait)

- the old doctor was there, haven't seen him for maybe 18 months or more, I generally prefer the new guy as he's more open to stuff that I have researched, like HRT!! But it was good to see him as he's retiring at the end of May!

- he congratulated me on my French as this was the first time we'd conversed in French !!

- he didn't charge me for an appointment, just wrote the prescription while we chatted


- biggest happy thing : he said "you've lost loads of weight"

I haven't lost loads recently but in the last few years I have lost about 10kgs, and I don't think I've seen him much since I lost the last 5 or so.

That did make me very happy

Saw a load of puppies yesterday having been on various waiting lists.

Purchased a puppy


Will get said puppy in a couple of weeks



Very happy but extremely happy that the family are now all ready for a second dog again

Having somebody make me a cup of tea. I seem to spend my day standing next to the kettle.

Gets better....because she's leapfrogged loads of her peers she's now in a group of 1 for the weekly sno academy every Sunday morning. Means she effectively gets a private lesson every week for the rest of this term, hopefully she then moves up to the top group. Bargain.

I'm the opposite. Nobody I know can make a good cup of tea so I much prefer to do it myself.

Three simple rules that nobody I know seems to be able to follow (or maybe they think they're unimportant):
You must warm the pot.
You must use boiling water.
You must put the milk in the cup before pouring the tea.

Too tired to do much moving but got to the new apartment to 'test' the tv and it seems the last occupant has left the tv logged into Canal+

Am now sitting here hoping to stay awake for the MotoGP!!!

He was explaining the plan for May and looked at me and said; you don't look very positive? I replied with; I'm not, I don't think I want to stay with the company. His response (this was on Friday) was - well, finish on Sunday then?


I've had a feeling for a while that he'd rather have someone else (a French with more experience!) as the shifts I was getting were not those you'd expect for someone he wanted to stay!!!

I think we are both ok with it - bit short notice for him to sort out someone else, but if what I suspect is correct, he's probably got someone lined up !!


Either way - I'm so much less stressed now I know it's over!!!
