I don't particularly want to own a gun but I would like to be allowed to own a gun (or not prohibited from owning a gun).

By the way, when I was 16 years old the government issued me with a rifle. How times have changed.

Did they let you take it home? :?

If you had a knighthood, in ye olden dayes they would have been happy for you to stroll around the streets with a sword on your belt. But try that now ... :wtf:

Back to where I was living at the time, so I suppose the answer is yes. :)

I was an apprentice in the RAF. We were each issued with a Lee Enfield .303 rifle, which we took back to our living quarters. (They didn't trust us with ammunition mind.)

A few may be reconsidering those choices. According to the BBC today:

The average price of a gallon of petrol in the US stood at $4.24 on Thursday, according to the AAA motoring group. That is up from $2.98 on the day the US and Israel began striking Iran.

NB for comparison, we're around £7.25 a gallon - but we get 20% more, so around £6 a US gallon.
Mine is 7.3 liters :)

As for the price of gas:
The average cost in the US is still lower than it was here in Califailure BEFORE it all kicked off with Iran.. but our Governor is blaming he who can't be mentioned for this:

Now take out the % of suicides & the gang bangers shooting each other.

AND, lets not turn this political.

On a podcast a guy said, If we're all armed, guns would kinda negate themselves. Next guy replied, Not really, we'd just move onto RPGs! :D

The UK suicide rate is approximately 0.11 per 1,000 population

The U.S. suicide rate is approximately 0.14 per 1,000 population

In the United States, an average of 26,000 to 27,500 people die by firearm suicide every year.

So 20,000 remaining.

Gang bangers? Hah!

There is no exact annual figure for how many U.S. gang members shoot each other, because the FBI does not track all shootings exclusively by gang affiliation. However, law enforcement agencies estimate that between 13% and 80% of urban gun homicides are gang-related.

So 3000-16000. 'Best case', that's 4000 people.

You missed another category: Annual estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicate that there are about 500 unintentional fatal firearm deaths in the U.S. per year.

Yes, a bayonet as well. I'd forgotten about that. A bunch of 16 and 17 year old boys and they trusted us with bayonets! :o
