Was just browsing what others do and it seems the preferred method is to unbolt the caliper from the mounting bracket. That's what I generally do on the zx6 so it's what I'll do on the mt07 next time as well. It does make wangling it all in a little easier on the zx6.

On a few of the GSXRs, it was easier to unbolt the caliper. Oh, and took me years to realise it was easier to put the chain on, once you've put the wheel in

That does seem like a particularly genius bit of thinking. A paddock stand bobbin which doesn't allow you to take the rear wheel out when the bike's on a paddock stand

Well they're actually described as crash protection not paddock bobbins but they do both jobs

Do axle bobbins help save bike in a crash. I ain't convinced but happy to be corrected.

I bought them for paddock stand duties rather than crashing though.

Ye, get that, I've bought bikes with them on front and always wondered what they'd save.

Theoretically I suppose they may save the fork bottoms from road rash. I always think bobbins may dig in and barrel roll the bike. The best solution is to not bother with the crashing part.

The sun was out today so i lobbed @dern and @2xtwins a message but neither of them could make it. So i had to shoot out to the supermarket and took the long way.

As we've discussed and seen, motorbikes are not what they once were in my life these days, playing very much 2nd fiddle to things with pedals. However that doesn't mean i don't enjoy riding them, they're still great things and this MT-07 is one of the best still.

I love it's handling, it just flicks left, right with so much ease and the fuelling is absolutely smooth as silk... I honestly can't find a single fault in how it rides...
If i were being picky, the KTM was easier to clean and reach all the nadgery bits... but that's about the only criticism i can throw at the MT07.

Ooo, nice. Loaded with meetings today but would have love to come out to play. Very jealous

I like mine a lot too, but I do find it runs out of grunt too quickly when on the open roads? The guy who sold my one to me, sold it on behalf of the owners widow, but he had one himself and reckoned the R6 throttle tube was a surprisingly good mod to make? Not sure I'll bother but he did bang on about it1

I hear you, but i do try and stay away from that sort of road and my sensible head kicks in at 90 rather than 120 these days.

I've not done the throttle tube, there's a recent discussion on the forum about it actually.... but it's something i think would be a good mod.

Shorter throw/quick action. The MT07 is a long reach from closed to open, the R6 shortens that a lot.

I have to say it's not something I've noticed before? Do you think it'll make it a bit snatchy in traffic though?
