Mind you, she must be the only person that ever had a second Vauxhall Frontera*.

*Actually pretty good in a 'keep it simple' sort of way.

About 1996, ahead of the SUV boom, a mate bought one for his wife.

Lots of jibes from colleagues, "Ho ho ho, be going off-road, will she?"

His reply: "Have you not heard about my wife's driving?"

She hit one of their cars with the other one

The first one was rather Series 2 Land Rover-like ie a tad agricultural, leaf spring rear suspension etc, the second was slightly more refined in some ways. They were about as aerodynamic as a Town Hall. Someday she'd get home after a motorway trip, at an average of about 90mph and I'd wonder what mpg she was getting...

We did use it on hiking expeditions a lot so it wasn't just work/tarmac stuff and it was spot on.

I guess they were a bit like the mighty Duster in practicality and a bit bigger than stuff like the early Rav 4s. Definitely less agricultural than the Lada Niva we hired in Turkey though.

I rather liked 'em.

I'm combining several midlife crisis, a complete and total mental breakdown and a full on spaz-out (that's a medical term) all in one go

My Tesla(S) (we have three) are still brilliant but unfortunately we can't charge them at home during the day, it immediately just says it's too hot to charge and even during the night it will only charge at a reduced rate, so it takes three full nights to fully charge my car in 40c+ ambient temps.

If we take it to the superchargers in the malls then it's done in <2hrs, it takes half an hour for the car to cool down then it's done in about 1hr 30.

Other than that (and the absolutely ridiculous black glass roof that gets so hot you can't even touch it lightly without burning your fingers) it's ok.
