I realised a couple of days ago that it's 40 years since I stopped smoking. I had my last cigarette in March 1986.

Best decision I ever made.

Got a notification that the new Chris Brookmyre is on its way. 🥳💃

First physical book I've bought in an age, if you don't count Lonely Planets.
These days I reserve that for my favourite authors only, and he's not released a book for yonks.

Took a couple for a 4WD yesterday.

Propert 4 hour off road tour where the commercial tours won't go

They bought me lunch at my fave cafe in a fishing village.

They told me to meet up at our local bar to buy me a few beers.
They'd put 20€ onto my tab. Very generous. I never want paying, but nice to be appreciated.

Just popped into bar for a quickie and apparently they'd been in today and put another 40€ on :obscene-birdiedoublered:

My dry month starts Monday so better get cracking :obscene-birdiedoublered:

I'm fitter than last 2 years :)

Every year in preparation for my mainland track events, I go on a month long fitness regime.

Today was weights in garage and 15k cycle ride

I keep Excel spreadsheets so I can push harder each day to beat the previous day's efforts

Blow me, both the weights and cycling efforts were better than the first 6 days last year :)

Good to know I'm not going downhill yet :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Tmrw is starting building to a mile swim. Hope that's an improvement as well

The extra enduro and road rides aren't measurable but I'll have a feeling in my head

Item on local radio about a meningitis outbreak in Reading. Reporter covering the story, then presenter talking to a GP about symptoms etc.

Next record played? "Fever Dream" :D

Managed to trip a speed warning sign* when running earlier, the green smiling face and 5mph it showed made me smile for the remaining mile home.

*I suspect the car going passed at 33mph, getting a red frown face set the camera off and I just happened to be in the right place at the right time for my ‘speed’ to register on the display before it went back to normal state, but it made me happy :D

Mid dog walk and sat at my fave quiet bit of the beach.

There's loads of kit set up for a concert tonight and a lad is playing the organ, presumably as sound check.

Just thought of my fave piece "Take Five" and the bugger just started playing it :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Bit of a magical moment for me :)

Mate bought a new helmet, rather pleased with himself after getting a $200 discount on the $960 price (WTF??)

Proudly showing it off at the Rockstore this morning.

I never knew you could get Gundam themed helmets, does he enjoy cartoon robots fighting?

I dunno why you'd get a Zaku helmet, they're the shit mobile suits the bad guys use!

That sort of scene brings back a lot of memories, it looks like a lot of places in the same latitude and reminded me of all the years spent around the Caribbean and old forts.

We're over on Tenerife for a medical appointment and popped into a restaurant for some scran.

Time was a little tight as the flight back was booked.

The geezer brought this little gizmo out which is brilliant :D

Folk never rush over here, but this saved us enough time to make the day smoother
Now at airport feeling relaxed.

I've left behind the snow and endless pics of mountains

It's time for sunshine and endless pics of slightly smaller mountains

Getting the aircon fixed at Chez Gremlin in time for this weekend's hot weather.

Which, along with the fact that I've just ironed a linen shirt for a weekend barbeque, means I've jinxed it and it'll piss down all weekend. Sorry.
