Certainly makes fastening a strap easier.

A bloke at work get on his bike from the right side. He's waiting for a hip replacement and can't lift his right leg up because of it. Its avery odd thing to see!

Depending on the camber of the road I sometimes get on mine from the RHS. It puts less strain on the sidestand and gets less weird the more often you do it. (I also have a dodgy hip )
