Point of order #1: The baby should arrive on Christmas Day.
Point of order #2: The three wise men should arrive on January 6th.

Apart from that.

Astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy has snapped a striking shot of a skydiving YouTuber perfectly aligned with the fiery surface of the sun. The unlikely image, dubbed "The Fall of Icarus," required meticulous planning to pull off.
“It exceeded my expectations,” McCarthy says in an Instagram video while explaining that, after he captured the shot of Brown, he then made the image “super high-res” by shooting the Sun on another telescope and “assembled a mosaic of the entire Sun”, which he later matched with the features in Brown’s photo.
He may have got a shot of the skydiver in front of the sun, but that shot was assembled from many other shots.

It probably took a lot of planning to get the original shot of the skydiver in front of the sun, but I can't help thinking he might as well just pasted a random skydiver on a picture of the sun for the same effect.

I get that all professional photography has some alterations such as colour grading and other effects, but I tend to loose interest when the alterations become the whole picture.

Maybe I'm just too grumpy these days

A YouTube video was made of the shoot.

There's a bit of discussion about it on the Cloudy Nights forum, most think it was a genuine attempt.

Used to see her occasionally alongside the A30, near Blackwater. She sold postcards to help cover the cost of food for them.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Ozzy :)

He was put up for adoption on local FB dog group. They said dozens replied.
I sent pics of our huge garden which they loved.

Got him at 1:00 and he's settled in quickly.
Sniffing everything and playing with Elvis' toys.

Collie/Alsation cross but not sure of ratios. He's certainly calm and quiet.

And just sat next to me on sofa ;)

6 months old.

Many moons ago I used to put silly notes or drawings in the Gremlinette's school lunch.

She's turned the tables on me...

In The Lost World of the Kalahari, explorer Laurens van der Post shares a haunting moment from his time with the Kalahari Bushmen.
One night, they asked him a simple question: "Why can't you hear the stars?"
He laughed, thinking it was a joke. But they weren’t joking.
When they realized he truly couldn’t hear the stars sing, their joy turned to sorrow. To them, the sounds of the night sky were real—an intimate part of nature’s voice. Not hearing it meant something far worse than deafness. It meant disconnection.
To the Bushmen, the greatest tragedy wasn’t losing your hearing...
It was losing your relationship with the universe.

I believe he is from the 'Fukarwee' tribe.

(They're 4 feet tall on average and live in the five foot grasslands of the Kalahari. Named after their frustrated cries, whilst jumping up to get their bearing and shouting 'We're the Fukarwee! We're the Fukarwee)

I'll get my coat.
