I do that with my sat nav. My van and camperbus are reading slow where 65 is actually 70mph. So must a lot of other cars as i tend to be going faster than most of them on the motorway.exportman wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 8:41 pm
The soft bongs I don't mind but some are set to actually not allow you to exceed the speed limit.
As for KPH I just change the setting in Waze to show it as KPH not MPH simples![]()

You're allowed to sell cars with a certain level of speedo error but you're not allowed to sell cars which under read.
Since its basically infeasible to sell cars in any kind of volume with perfectly accurate speedos they ALL under read, so that the worst (best?) amount of error would mean your speedo is exactly right.

IIRC, voluntary helmet wearing was at about 90% before it was compulsory.asmethurst99 wrote: Tue Jan 14, 2025 1:04 pmI get what you mean but i meant people actually wearing them - Just checked 1973 so we have had them for over 50 yearsCount Steer wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 7:39 amImproving standards on helmet construction are probably a factor but that's no different from improving car design and construction standards to reduce damage to the contents and the people they hit really.

Even the wifes car is under but less than the van. The bus is exaggerated as i went up from 14 to 16" wheels. I forgot about this on my last trip to Devon/Cornwall. Doing 70 on the motorway (75) in a plated 4.2 tonne bus and wondering why my MPG was average 22Mr. Dazzle wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 8:50 pm You're allowed to sell cars with a certain level of speedo error but you're not allowed to sell cars which under read.

I was wearing one in 1964. It looked cool.Horse wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 8:52 pmIIRC, voluntary helmet wearing was at about 90% before it was compulsory.asmethurst99 wrote: Tue Jan 14, 2025 1:04 pmI get what you mean but i meant people actually wearing them - Just checked 1973 so we have had them for over 50 yearsCount Steer wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 7:39 am

My cousin wasn't wearing one when he went through a phone box in 1960. Spent the next 40 years in various hospitals.
