Glad it was caught in time and that they say they can treat it. May your treatment be swift, pain free and fully effective.
Can't put it better than that!
Hope they get you sorted with minimum bother.
(I know what my test results are and NOT because they've been in contact to tell me. 'cos they haven't

).

Well. I got the results of the biopsy yesterday and it's bad news and good news.
Bad news: yes, it's cancer.

Good news: they should be able to cure it.

I've already had the finger up, that was the easy bit.

Actually, I'm surprisingly unstressed. Maybe that will change as the treatment gets under way. I'll have to wait and see.

IIRC you mentioned umpteen biopsies? If so it's surprising there's anything left ...

I checked my own results, as they did bloods and urine, on Patient Access as they didn't contact me either.

Relieved it’s been caught and can be treated. That’s excellent news ( IYSWIM).
I had my MRI 9 days ago. Not heard anything yet, but can take 2 weeks.

OK. Time for an update. Here goes, it might give you an idea what to expect if you have to go through it:
The treatment started in April with a course of Bicalutamide tablets: one a day for 28 days.
Two weeks into that I had the first of what will be six injections of Decapeptyl which reduces testosterone. I was told I might get some of the symptoms that ladies of a certain age experience when the menopause hits. I say "some", I'm pretty sure that I'm not likely to find my periods stopping.

I do, however, suffer from hot flushes and cold sweats. Most disconcerting.
Four weeks ago I started radiotherapy. The instructions are quite strict in that I had to be well hydrated, then an hour before the treatment time empty my bladder then drink 350ml of water. They wanted me to have a full(ish) bladder and an empty(ish) bowel so they supplied a load of micro-enemas which I had to use for the first two weeks of the radiotherapy. I've never had so much stuff shoved up my bum.

For the first couple of weeks they did an ultrasound scan to make sure my bladder was as full as it should be. A couple of times I had to go back to the waiting area and drink a cup or two of water.
A month before the radiotherapy started I went to the hospital, they put me on the table, lined me up in the right position and tattooed three dots, one on each hip and one on my belly.
The radiotherapy session itself takes less than 5 minutes, but first the nurses have to line you up on the table using the tattooed dots. they then go out of the room and the machine rotates around you until you're suitably irradiated.
Side effects of the raiotherapy:
I now know what they mean by the burning sensation. It's not really a burning sensation, it's more an intensification of the overwhelming urge to have a piss, but because it takes so long to get started and the flow is now very slow that feeling just builds and builds very uncomfortably.
Because the prostate is so close to the bowel I was warned that some damage to the bowel was almost inevitable and to expect some bleeding. That has happened.
I'm assured that these side effects should start to go away during the next 7 to 14 days.
And that's about it. I had my last radiotherapy session today.
Reports of my demise are premature.
