Finding a post it note on your desk, I wrote it this morning, it says "Q1 523 W" I have no sodding clue what it means, why I wrote it or what I was supposed to do with the information.

Ooh, a puzzle!
Q1 - Quarter 1? Question 1? Q for Quality?
Is the 1 definitely a 1 and not an I?
Is it the right way up?

Went to the book sale today. Looks like a very keen Cliff Richard fan has died recently.

When you fall off your mountain bike and have to lay there whilst you gather yourself to stand up and your younger riding buddies loom over you looking all concerned.

You’re happy enough to sit in workshop reception drinking a free coffee, rather than walking round the showroom resisting buying something new and shiny!

TBH, that's the only reason I ever go into Vines BMW, if I'm in the area, these days.... the free coffee!

Why? Sure NHS drugs are free.

Not for me, still in the first flush of youth (56).

Got 4 prescriptions this week.
2 for steroids
2 for Ramipril
Less than 10€ the lot.
Was in chemist less than 2 minutes. As soon as keyed in on screen, they come down a chute.

Mine is proper old school. It has one of those ornate bottles in the window filled with what I hope is just coloured water. Glass cabinets filled with dusty things I never knew existed, let alone what I might need one day and posters warning about the dangers of Spanish Flu. I made that one up, but I suspect they had one 'til recently.
Last time I went in I'd been prescribed two big bottles of antibacterial body wash*, each 500ml, so when the bloke went to the small drawers where the prescriptions are kept for collection I said to him, 'It'll be a big package' to which he gave me a bit of a condescending look, as if yeah, WTF do you know? After rooting around for another minute I repeated 'Two big pump bottles, so I doubt it'll fit in those drawers', which he studiously ignored. After about three minutes of looking he called for help and the other assistant lead him to a box labelled 'Over-size prescriptions'. Lo and behold.
*I've suddenly developed a small patch of eczema right at the top of the crack of my arse. TMI? Probs.

My regular meds work out around £3 each (2 months supply of each), obvs it becomes much cheaper if I need additional shit (antibiotics etc.) during a year.

Gets even cheaper after state retirement age.
The dentist recently prescribed me a 6 day course of antibiotics for a gum infection. Olde Worlde broad spectrum ones, nothing exotic. Took prescription to chemist. 'Oh that's a private prescription*, that'll be £60+ please'.
* On one of those dental insurance schemes rather than NHS.

I wouldn't expect that, does it mean prescriptions from a private GP don't cost the standard amount either? On the flip side if you are prescribed a cheap drug will it cost less than the standard charge?
The cynic in me thinks the customer will always get the most expensive option.

You're over 60, why are you paying for prescriptions? Methinks your Spanish GP is El Grande Bandito!
