After 5/6 weeks Ozzy is really settling in. Having a big garden is great as he runs till he's tired. The 4 mile walk in morning doesn't always tire him out.
He's an amazing clever dog. We struck gold

Well that escalated quickly.
She turned up meowing loudly outside in the snow last Saturday and spent the night, heading off at 6am.
She re-appeared on Tuesday evening and has spent every night since.
Took her to the vets for a microchip scan on Wednesday am, nothing found. No recognition of her on the local village Facebook page and locals' WhatsApp group.
Last night we let her through into the living room, having established she is flea-free (she did have a big tick that we removed).
This morning she was still inside, and came for a cuddle.

She's lovely

. A bit nervous of us to start with, but she's well past that now. She must have got herself lost as she's very friendly, house trained, etc, etc.
We've named her Fidget as she barely stays still - even when snuggling up and getting tickled she's constantly on the move
Still a bit nervous of the dog, which is fair, seeing as he was barking madly at her when she first came back and was hiding under the car.
They've spent some time in the same room looking at each other today with no drama, so hopefully that's going to settle.
She's spent almost all day here today for the first time (as opposed to just staying overnight) - albeit most of the time in a different room to the dog.
We're giving it a week to make sure she's definitely still hanging around and then we'll take her to get chipped and injected etc...

Steady (Eddy) had a similar modus operandi (and appearance).

He was the 2nd of three cats that just turned up and stayed. All got checked for chips and hours were spent checking on Facebook lost pets groups.
The latest 'Larry" (who I call Laszlo) was taken in and chipped by a lady on the next street, but he's decided he'd rather live with us. She's agreed to let us take him in and change the chip over.
We've got five of the shit bags now.

My wife is worried about our Frnchie getting IVDD, so she bought some steps for her to get on and off the settee. She just jumps over them both ways, and the jack russell made a chaise lounge out of them!

The black pup is exiled from the dog park until after he gets his knackers removed on the 22nd. He attacked two GSD sized dogs on Friday & today decided he was going to have a piece of 4 Frenchies (the dogs, not those snail eating fuckers from over the channel).
Usual deal is they play among all the other dogs at the park for 30 minutes. Never any trouble before Fridays clusterfuck. That deal ended today after he was a motherfucker. He got to spend 2 hours in the dog prison when we got home. He won't be going back to the dog park any time this month.

Happily lying next to me on the sofa.
Which is great as he’s recently become spooked by buses whilst out on his walks… Thankfully with the lighter nights and, hopefully, dryer days, we can head to another park where he can run, worry free, off lead and enjoy himself.
I must get around to installing the outside shower hose with hot & cold running water (for my benefit) to wash him off when he, inevitably, gets covered in mud… Bloody Labradors!
