They come for winter training and their arrogance and self importance knows no bounds and they piss everyone off.

Today, they excelled themselves. Saw 3 cyclists, which would have been easy for cars to pass. Oh no. Their coach was sat in a car behind them, at their speed with hazard warners on.
Blocking the road with large tailbacks. Saw them twice on our morning walk and some cars had to do dodgy overtakes to get past.
Shame the Guardia Civile didn't spot them.
You need farmers who will lead the way driving very slow, very wide tractors, towing very long trailers, carrying loads of very smelly organic soil improver.
I knew someone near Abergavenny who, if he'd been stuck behind cyclists for ages, would overtake in his diesel van and then slow down to just less than they wanted to be going. Making them slow down and breathe in the diesel fumes. Can't say I agreed with im (well, the frequency!!! ) but I could see why a person could get that pissed off with the veloists :angelic-green:

Been invited to go with some friends to a bike show in Lyon. I was supposed to sort the ticket on Saturday but work n stuff meant that I only just did it.

Have ticket - so now to book a test ride.

Nope - none available for anything I even remotely want to ride :( :( Gutted :( :( (Was aiming for an MT10, R7 or MT09!!)

EDIT - booked on a 390Duke. Might as well try something and it'll be a good test of my arm cos I'll probably end up with one one day for up here!! :D

It's MotoGP time and I want to renew my videopass subscription. I'm in Ireland, my cards have either a Spanish or UK billing address, MotoGP says fuck off, my billing address does not match my location.

Be aware that you can't drive it on your own insurance under 'any other vehicle' cover unless the other vehicle has insurance cover.

Either cover for it as a named vehicle, or £150 or so for a transport.

Good, if the case.

I used to get payments to Microsoft refused because they were charging from Ireland and I was in England, never anywhere else so I wonder if there's a fraud issue there.

No idea about fraud, I have a couple of options though. Either I'll get wifey to pay it from Spain but that involves an arguement, even though it's slightly cheaper than her Netflix, definitely cheaper than her annual yoga spend, we won't mention Amazon Prime, etc. Or I'll stick it on the old mans bank card and drop the cash into his account, much easier.

Misgendering..........or more accurately, people that get 'offended' by it.
JK Rowling has apparently been reported to the police because she misgendered some trans news reader (by the trans news reader themselves).
Now, you can paint a cow with black and white stripes, but it will never be a zebra. If you want to play dress up, or take it to extremes, to feel happier about yourself, that's your choice and none of my concern. If, however you insist to me that you're a woman and try to dictate which pronouns I can use , I'll be asking to see some ovaries and a birth certificate.

Booked some hotel accommodation a few weeks back after figuring out an itinerary amongst multiple proposed itineraries and numerous requests for different options of stops at different locations. Last night I go to check the location of tonight's stop and, oh fvckit, I've booked for the following weekend. But, oh yay, no matter there's availability for tomorrow, same price and everything. Yeah, however it turns out that the booking-broker/front-desk have figured out an "i',m a bit of a wanker" policy between themselves and can't (won't) change it. :(. Balls.

I'm always amazed by stuff like this, I get that this is my fault, but the solution makes no sense.

I create a spreadsheet for when I'm traveling, I started doing this when I missed a booking for one night while I was in Austria with my spawn.

She's been given seven days 'til the policy ends, so she needs to get her arse in gear and bring it back home. Alternatively, she has off-street parking in the halls, but I'd feel happier if the car was where I could see it.

She did say that the Aura Insurance told her that she would not have to declare it as a cancelled policy as it was a case that the underwriter simply wasn't quoting that postcode. Not sure how accurate that is, as I've seen the letter emailed from Aura that clearly states that the policy has been cancelled.

And suddenly I find myself stressing about it all. Why? I bloody told her not to take it. The cheapest insurance I can find, and not declaring any cancellations, is £2,100. I suspect it would have been that much come renewal anyway, but it's still bugging me.
Be careful, off-street may still be a public place, and if so you do need valid insurance. Also, if it is not insured it needs to be SORNed, or they will catch you for that.

Well, just to update....

Car, and said child (and boyfriend) are currently back at Chez Gremlin, along with the offending vehicle. After getting all medieval father and cursing said child and threatening to cast her away, Mrs. G calmed me down with a dog chew and a pat on the head and convinced me to part with a substantial amount of money to once again insure child to drive said car, but under the strict condition that it stays rooted at Chez Gremlin, like a tethered swine. Child has agreed and has also undertaken to pretend to be mute should her insurance ever need to call her again.

I even had to make her bloody Nutella pancakes this morning. What kind of mug am I?

Wise decision. Miss CJ was similarly given a car on the strict understanding it did NOT go to university with her.

Thanks to gremmers and Cheb for the condolences. Bollocks to the rest of you! ;)

Anyway, although the front desk are charmless thickets, my previous good business plus a bit of previous arselicking seems to have done the trick with the actual hotel manager. Got a refund/swap despite being previously denied.

It's a minimum wage(ish) job, you want the minimum price, the hotel/car hire want maximum profits. What do you expect?

It's right on the edge of a university campus, in the middle of nowhere, you'd think it would be staffed by poor stoodents.

It probably is. The quality of students isn't what it was. There probably doing degrees in nailology or chromatherapy.
