Most of mine are off as ill answer folk when i am ready. No need to jump and answer straight away. Any emergency i would think they will phone.
IF you were replying to me. I think you missed the point, maybe I didnt't write it very well. My phone often notifies me of whatsapp message or email, its just that sometimes, for no reason, it doesn't.
If you weren't replying to me, I should stop being so self centered

Ferry arrives in Bilbao, there's a 40 minute delay whilst customs do there bit, then I'm off. Through passport control then get pulled over by customs 100 yards further on and get asked for my passport. I usually play the game and keep my gob shut but after 30 minutes I asked if there is a problem with my passport, these are Guardia Civil so you don't speak unless spoken to. Blokey says their system is playing up, I helpfully suggested that the passport control didn't seem to have a problem, perhaps they could walk down there and check. That got me another 15 minutes. Tossers.

Booking.com. Who can't grasp the concept that if I've specified 2 rooms for 2 adults that's actually what I want, not one double room.

Sky Stream.
If I watched the F1 qualifying yesterday, why the flying fuck does Sky think i want to watch the Qualies AGAIN they next day when i select the Full Race programme?
Also, if I'm watching in catch up and fast forward and happen to hit an ad break, why oh fucking why does the programme jump back to the PREVIOUS frigging ad break watch I'VE ALREADY FUCKING WATCHED!!
I don't know if this is just incompetence on the part of the Sky programmers,or if it's deliberate, but it's absolutely boiling my piss.

HMRC, more specifically their VAT team - incompetent unhelpful fuckwits!
Despite them screwing up and being at fault, I have to spend hours on hold to resolve the problem they created. Perhaps I can bill them my hourly rate?

don't....
I needed to be on self-assessment for about a year, I had to fill in self-assessment forms for a following 2 years (to prove I didn't need to do it), then I applied to be removed from Self-assessment; got the letter saying "Yes, we agree, you no longer need to do self-assessment. You do not need to do self-assessment for 22-23".
So - imagine my surprise when I received a Late Filing Penalty for my self-assessment 22-23!! GAAAAAH!!!!

Similar - I de-registered from VAT as the contract is was working was agency PAYE, next contract went back to Ltd Company so re-registered for VAT.
Come submission time, my VAT details were not recognised so could not submit of make payment - many calls later and HMRC said their mistake and give me a new VAT number. Submit and make payment but now HMRC are sending me letters saying VAT against the old number is due despite us never submitting a return!
Now on chat with them and they are telling me I have to make a zero rated return against the old account that I can't bloody access - they are so shite!

Both HMRC and DWP are in a real mess at the moment . I am in a long running dispute with the DWP about my state pension .HMRC are telling me one thing ( about my NI contributions )and DWP are telling me another . Apparently DWP have the final say , but only because they ( the DWP ) made errors in the past ( in their favour of course ! )

Had to go into the new Primark today. Never been in one before, but the reputation precedes them.
<Shudder>
Never again.

You need to think of it in terms of entertainment, like in the days of paying a penny to goad the inmates in Bedlam.

All this fuss about the solar eclipse.
Just like night, only a bit shorter.
Move on, people....nothing to see here.

When I was going through my phase of shagging chavettes, or Millies as we call them here, Primark was a happy hunting ground. Wonderful place.

Don't listen to the old farts! Love a Primani outing

There's an eclipse roughly every 18 months or so. Spain is going to get 3 in the next few years, 2 total and one annular. One of them, a total in 2028 will just miss Yorick but he'll get a good partial. I might just go to Egypt in 2027 . . .

I missed the 1999 Cornwall one.
Well no I didn't, I was right in the path of maximum totality. It was just an overcast day
Every so often I peruse the Wikipedia "Total Solar Eclipses in the 21st Century" page, 'cause I really want to see one. I can imagine I might do the one which is passing over/through the Balearics in August 2026. Mrs. D has been saying she wants to go on, and I quote, "a shit Spanish holiday" anyway.
I suspect the school holiday tax on hotels/flights in that period will go into overdrive.

I was just north of Redruth in 1999 on the centre line and the cloud was down low. It was still a sight to see the shadow approaching over the Atlantic at around 3000 mph and we got a small break in the cloud just after totality and saw a beautiful 'diamond ring'.
I'd gone down on the bike and Speed Couriers gave me an evening job to MK which although south made it a long trip from Manchester and it was a long haul back to Preston after the event. The XJ900F was comfortable but not that comfortable.
I think Egypt will have clear skies in 2027 and I'm already thinking of what photography kit will be best to take. Other (Turkish) astronomers and astro-photographers are also interested so there might be a party.

I was all set to go to Cornwall in 1999 to stay at my mate's pub, the Bucket of Blood.
But my company asked me to go work in Toronto for 4 months.
Apparently I missed nothing as was very cloudy. I remember folk charging stupid money for accommodation
