Dodgy knees wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2020 8:10 am Fantastic video @Couchy ...Great to see the 'alternative bike' stealing the show on track. Plenty of chat in paddock i would imagine. Proper fun. 👍
Not one of the 40 or so I passed came and had a look or made a comment lol
Well, none you could hear anyway

So bit of an issue the brembo pads don’t look too healthy and the exhaust touched a little lol

I'm still shocked at the pads... but this thing was NEVER designed to go on track... they'll be crying with laughter at RE when they get the pics..

"What the hell...." will be their reply.

He's posted the video to the official RE Facebook page, he'll be their poster boy this time next week!

Unlike say a CB500, Harley XR, triumph speed triple, monster 900, duke 690, XSR900, duke 390, xt660 and any number of bikes. Daft thing to say it’s a motorbike so can be ridden anywhere 🤣

No, but it's even LESS appropriate than all of them !

Why ?, it’s lighter than most, it has clip ons which most of them don’t. Also has a frame designed by Harris 🏆🏆

Because it may have been designed by Harris but built with cheap labour and cheap parts. The CB500 may go well but that doesn't mean that any bloke in Japan had a race series in his head when making them

Think there will have been more than a few red faces and deleted / trimmed files after that day - Great Video :D

I sent the link to Rocket Ron, he must be in his 70's and has an Interceptor, he loved it.

I told him it was cheating going in Novice, but he chastised me and said that's exactly were a 48bhp bike should be :)

I did find one from a poorly ridden R1 I passed but the pass isn't on their video lol

A fast rider on a slow bike is always going to be faster than a muppet with an R1.
Looks likenyou had fun tho, which is the most important thing!

I think people are being a bit unfair, it was clear that most of those people had probably never been on a track before, and even if you're a competent road rider you're still going to be taking bad lines on a track until you know your way around.
My first time at Cadwell, 1.52 on a 15 yo sports tourer.
First time at Oulton, 1.51 on same bike
First time at Donny, 1.49 as above.

Slow and steady in and out of the corners is one thing, riding like a nun on the straights too, either too scared/brainwashed by society or completely over-awed being overtaken by a riding god!

Harry wrote: Fri Aug 28, 2020 1:59 pm Sometimes people need a bit of practise before they start going fast.
Only if they know - and understand- what they should be doing. Not everyone will be able to consider and investigate alternative options.

Potentially they could be practicing the 'wrong' things. Practice doesn't make perfect, it makes permanent.
