Walked dog. Home for prayers. Then did three "visits", back to church for a Baptism meeting and now taking it quietly. Walking dog later on and have a wedding rehearsal this evening (Wedding on Saturday). Been using the bike for the visits and it is more fun and easier to get about on.

I had a relaxed morning doing the garden,I put in a small pond the other year & now it's full of tadpoles & looking like it's been there for years.
I then got around to getting some motorcycle travel insurance for a forthcoming trip to Ireland £18 for a week's insurance through Carole Nash.
I also got some other quotes for two seperate trips over the channel & one for a annual multitrip insurance, all a bit boring but essential.

The gardens started to wake up after winter, lawnmower likes a sniff of carb cleaner these days

Wrote an T-SQL stored procedure to export delivery information to CSV.

Created a Boyum universal function in SAP B1 to call the stored procedure and pass it the delivery note number as a parameter.

Setup an import template in the DPD software to handle automatic import of said CSV files and auto print labels.

Everyone is very impressed. Except Steve, who's job was to manually enter the address information the the DPD software.

A mate came and picked me up at 8am (an hours drive for her to get here :o ) - 2 hours drive to the Hôpital Nord in Grenoble to see the shoulder surgeon. We were a bit early, so coffee and chat after the xray, then off to chat with surgeon.

Surgeon all happy with shoulder. Tingling in my thumb is probably carpal tunnel  FFS  - have to get a nerve test again, which will be interesting as it'll show how much the damaged nerves have improved as well as if it's carpal tunnel or a problem with the nerve itself. First can be fix with (yet more!) surgery, second can't

Apart from the nerve issue, I don't need to see her for the shoulder for another year/18 months :D :D And she chatted with the knee surgeon this morning so that's cool! Not specifically about me but I was talked about! But that's cool as it means that I won't get kicked out on the 27th unless I can walk with one stick :)

Then we headed to Ikea for lunch (and shopping!!). Then an hours drive to the next rdv with an endocrinologist - probably got a thyroid issue (or an autoimmune issu  ), but blood tests to check and follow up appointment by video call!!

Two hours home and whilst cold, at least it's sunny :D

Mad to be so knackered when I've just sat in a car all day, but hey, I am!

Anyway, well happy about the shoulder - not so happy about the nerve issue. At least my lovely surgeon said I can wait quite a while if it is carpal tunnel! There is no good time of year for me at the mo, but I did say I'd like a couple of years with no surgery if possible!!

A simple diagnostic test is:
- Hand palm up
- Two fingers of other hand, gently tap on wrist

If you get little 'shocks' into index, middle and ring fingers, that's CTS.

Don't leave it too long. Nerves might not like being squidged long-term.

All day everyday I have tingling in my thumb, the inside/underneath. Almost never any nerve sensation in any other fingers, maybe occasionally in physio or if I stress my arm - then the nerve sensation is in my forearm and occasionally another finger or two. The arm is more usual though.

The surgeon did the tapping and whilst I didn't get 'shocks' the sensation in my thumb definitely increased - nothing in the fingers. The next step is to get an EMG (had a couple of these after the brachial nerve damage to confirm how much it had improved post op) - but this also to check if it might be the other nerve issue, which isn't fixable :( Sad to be 'hoping' its CPS!!

Thank you. I won't leave it too long. I just really want a break from hospitals/operations/rehab. Equally, if the EMG comes back and says it's more important, then I'll take what the doctors say and follow their guidance. Given that I'm right handed, it's not something I can mess about with. Just, really hoping it's not going to be urgent !!

I have more bad news :(

As my surgeon warned: "we're made as a pair"

Shortly after healing from the first op, symptoms in the other hand. The only redeeming point was that I didn't have to go GP referral, instead straight to orthopaedics, so done much sooner.

It's no worries. As long as I don't NEED the first op too soon, then I can deal with the left hand as well. TBF, I'm way more worried about the right side because of the previous nerve damage. Whilst I'd prefer not to have another op too soon, that is definitely preferable to the other option she mentioned that is not fixable!!

Also, having seen quite a few positive posts about CTS surgery on here, I'm not too phased about it. But I really would prefer it to be fixable cos I'm right handed! Even though I can do virtually everything I 'need' to do left handed after having to learn twice, I'm not overly keen (and the thought of learning to cross stitch as a leftie is not a good one - I already know I pretty much can't crochet as a leftie :( :( )

So far I've had no symptoms of any sort in the left - but then, the left side hasn't had the abuse/damage that the right has had!! LOL

Day two of sorting out the storage container. That's two trips to the recycling centre and a big load for the charity shop tomorrow. Wifey thinks we've done well, I think there's still twice as much stuff as we need to keep.

7 mile cycle
9 miles walking
2 hours jet washing the underside of the pergola getting soaking wet. Then jumped in pool to warm up.

Saw a few pals in town and shifted a fair few cold 'uns.

Now chilling

On the Carpal front:
Before surgery he said "You'll be back on the bike in two weeks"... well today is two weeks...
Just seen the surgeon. Stitches out, cleared to ride with some kind of padding over the palm incision altho he said my bike gloves are probably padded enough (& armored). Will figure that out before I ride (may sacrifice a MF). After he pulled the stitches he put a row of three steri-strips on the wound, told me to keep it dry for a couple of day & let it fall off *whenever*.
Follow up in two months.

Just seen a man pushing a decent sized oil filled radiator up the road outside my place (his rad is about 4 times the size of the one I have!) - guess that he's living up here too (not just working in the day) cos none of the buildings here have heating on outside the winter season! LOL

Seriously considering putting my heater on too - but, as I sleep with the window open, I don't like to put the heater on as the heat just goes out the window when I go to be!! :(
