Well i guess for some it's finally payday after a long month of pain... (or not knowing this place

)
Fri. Chilling, WFH and loading up the van as usual. Gave it a wash yesterday as well as the wifes Focus, so we're good to go.
Sat. Llangollen for the boy along with the coach and hopefully a superstar pro-DH racer to push him along. Looking dry.
Sun. There'll be cleanup, there always is, but after that i'm hoping for a bit of sunshine and a decent ride for myself.

Ah, but...Feb is a short month and no Council Tax tor 2 months.
I'm back on with the loft project. Got to get some more loft boards today. Finished bagging up the old insulation yesterday. Just a few more bits of new insulation - layer 1 to put down. Layer 2 ready to go. Have got loads of 'loft legs' but probably won't use them much as the structure is way too complicated. Might just make a couple of raised bits in a couple of areas for storage.
Got a friend's son coming round this pm. He's 'disaffected IT' and wants to be a gardener. He can have a practice on ours under wife's supervision.

I always forget about the council tax thing and it's always a nice surprise.
This weekend I shall be mostly taking Baby D to do various things. Birthday party, snowboarding, bike ride...

I plan it in. The 'savings' each year coincide with my car service in March. This year there's 4 new tyres on the spending list though.
On the down side, it looks like my Council are going for +5% and water bills are going up by more than inflation to pay for infrastructure that they didn't do because there was nowt left after the owners had paid themselves.

I've got to take the mother unit to buy a new iPad, cos apparently you can't just buy one on line, you need to have a look at it first.l, despite them all being the same.

As per usual, not a clue. However, hoping to be able to get the bike out for a run to check it over and make sure all the kit is working. Supposed to be heading to London on the bike for a meet up next weekend.

Friday - 12hr day at work. Shaping up to be a good one as we’ve spotted 4 errors already on safety critical paperwork, upset the Drawing Office by questioning one of their errors and a whole load of rubbish is looming for later this arvo.
Sat - MTB or road ride weather dependant and a dog walk
Sun - more off the same

Having been back at work for two weeks following along holiday I felt exhausted, so took today as annual leave.
Got up, took the bike for its service at Carl Rosner, near Croydon. Sat chatting away to a fellow biker over a coffee waiting for the good Mrs. Gremlin to collect me (£30 for a loan bike now.

), only I had my phone on silent. Oops. She had to park and come looking for me, thinking I was dead under a bus.
Been gym, now sitting stinking and thinking about showering. Will take the lovely Mrs Gremlin for lunch somewhere.
Quiet one in tonight.
Saturday we'll go gym, have a coffee with the gym regulars and then set off for the Smoke with friends to celebrate their anniversary and a birthday. Taking them to see The Play That Goes Wrong, then to Theo Randall's for early dinner. Hopefully not a late one.
Sunday: sod all, I hope.

Recovering from Norovirus early part of the week - excessive bum gravy for me and had been both ends for my lovely wife!
Still feeling a bit crap - so bad that haven't consumed any wine, so hoping feel like a glass or two tonight.

Mine is at the start of each month so I think there's nothing to pay Feb and March, then it's 'back on yer 'eads*' in April.
*Old joke about hell.

Got up, took the bike for its service at Carl Rosner...
Knew the pads all wanted replacing. £270 fitted quoted.
Clutch felt like it might be slipping the other week. Adjusted cable. Felt like it was slipping again the other day. Asked them to take a look. Just called to say they reckon the clutch plates need replacing. Bike's not even done 10k miles yet.

Quoted c. £400 and will have to rebook it in. That'll be next month's pay day money gone.
Bloody good job uou can't take it with you.

I did. They said they all reckon I'm ugly too.
