They are hefty things as standard, but not surprising as there isn't that much plastic on them

That's the standard model weight. The modified bike has lost 21kg to come in at 175 kg, which is a noticeable improvement. It's no 2T enduro bike, but then it was never intended to be.

I really like the look of it, and I'm normally very 'meh' about bikes like this.

Yup, me likey too, although if it was mine I'd dump some extrainious items in favour of a supermoto style

I like it. If I was in the market for an off-road-capable bike this would be near the top of my list.

The :( thing about it is that it makes the version you can buy look a bit dowdy. I suppose you could buy a production model and copy the upgrades.

If I saw this one in a showroom window I think I would be magnetically drawn in. :)

Some if the weight issue is the metal bits which they say are used so you can bend everything straight when you need to.

Stick a couple of panniers on and I'd be happy doing a decent distance trip or two on it. A bit of a 'Swiss Army knife' bike.

Looks great.

They'll have saved a lot weight with the plastic tank.

The seat and tail section are genuine RE accessories.

If you can't pick it up, it's a useless off road bike.

The Paris Dakar BMW R80GS weighed 186kg (wet).

They seemed to cope with a bit of light off-roading.

It's not like you have to be able to bench-press them :)

Down a nice quiet trail and you tip over in some mud. Can't lift 200 kgs and no bugger to help you.

I quite like it - a tad over dressed, a more subtle job would have looked classier but it'll do

JFDI. Adrenaline is a wonderful thing, but it doesn't last long.

Imo, in that colour it's a great looking bike but, it'll be a bit sluggish on the roads and I wouldn't want to get it stuck in muddy ruts or chuck gravel at it. Not quite sure where it sits really.

For worry free off roading you need a bit of a knacker. 👍
