London's Ace Cafe axes late night opening - no more 'bike nights'

It's just been announced that thanks to a recent spate of “illegal and unacceptable behaviour on the road [outside]”, the café will now close early at 6pm on Friday nights rather than 10:30pm. The notice concludes “Thanking you in advance for your support and understanding.” The new hours will be in place for the foreseeable future.
The announcement continued saying that "Illegal and unacceptable behaviour will result in exclusion or barring from the café" and that "Vehicles not displaying a number plate, or an illegal plate, will not be allowed in the car park" whilst "wheelies, burn outs, loud revving of engines will not be tolerated in our car park or on the road.”
The notice also warned against the use of controlled drugs which "will not be allowed anywhere on our premises or in the car park".
A RECENT spate? It's been going on pretty much ever since the place reopened.
the Ace has been threatened with closure in the past due to this antisocial behaviour. A nearby road past the Central Middelsex hospital was closed to motorcycles after it became a focal point for stunting, with large crowds turning up to watch, and some years back Brent Council secured funding to install surveillance cameras with ANPR technology.

Must admit surprised this hasn't happened sooner, however I definitely think the atmos of the place is a bit more sinister now. Back in the early/mid 00's there used to be stunting etc but it was other than a few the usual bike haunt variety. From recent video's I've seen and when my brother went recently there's a lot of scooters/bike riders with balaclavas and face masks, no lids, no plates and openly wheeling past the police taunting them etc. I'd be worried about getting followed and my bike stolen, it has that sort of vibe now.

I imagine that the owner (what's his name.... Mark something), is fed up to the back teeth with complaints from the locals and the council. (he is an ex-copper after all).

Rowson, I think. Didn't know he was ex-plod.
I've a sneaking suspicion they are more than complaints from the council. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's the result of an '...or else' warning.

IIRC he was one of the plod who used to chase the ton-up boys in the '60s.
(The Ace was on his patch).
